Beloved British period drama confirmed for “truly electric” retelling with stacked cast

Audible plans to unveil a new adaptation of the classic British period piece “Pride and Prejudice,” featuring an impressive ensemble of voice artists.

Jane Austen’s novel from 1813, titled “Pride and Prejudice,” revolves around the blossoming relationship between Elizabeth Bennet and affluent gentleman, Mr. Darcy, in 19th-century English society.

The story has been recreated multiple times for both movies and TV shows, with a notable example being the 2005 blockbuster movie featuring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen in leading roles.

In addition to the main characters, we have Will Poulter playing Mr. Wickham, Jessie Buckley portraying Caroline Bingley, Toheeb Jimoh in the role of Mr. Bingley, and Glenn Close bringing Lady Catherine de Bourgh to life.
