One fan praised the actor playing Kitchen, saying he’s brilliantly understated and therefore very convincing. They compared his performance to a role perfectly suited for him, like something written specifically for the classic show *Foyle’s War*. The fan noted that the wartime setting of *Foyle’s War* works well, and the resulting social tensions create lots of opportunities for compelling murder mysteries, all of which Foyle expertly solves.

Man, I’ve been binging *Foyle’s War* and it’s seriously incredible. I’ve seen a lot of mystery shows, but this one blows them all away. It’s just *good* TV, you know? It’s set during World War II and the beginning of the Cold War, but it’s not about the battles. It’s about how the war affected the people back home, and they do such an amazing job telling that story. It’s a really remarkable series.

Foyle’s War is available on ITVX and Acorn TV, and comes to Netflix on 22 October.
