80-year-old veteran actor Peter Jason, who gained fame for portraying Con Stapleton in the HBO western series Deadwood, has passed away.
At this time, a cause of death for the NCIS star has not yet been revealed.
It was verified that he had passed away, with his peers, among them the renowned director of Halloween, John Carpenter, noting him as one of the outstanding character actors in film.
‘He was a dear friend and I’ll miss him terribly,’ Carpenter wrote on X.
On Thursday, Billy Zane, who co-starred with him in the 2008 movie “The Man Who Came Back”, took to social media to express a touching tribute in honor of Jason.

Zane went on to say: ‘His loving wife Eileen and children remain after him, and the emptiness caused by his departure hit me hard when I anticipated it.’
