Bella Hadid shared that she had her period on the day she walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This revelation came after people expressed concern about her health during the show, particularly while she was wearing very large, 50-pound wings.
The 29-year-old supermodel, who has been openly fighting Lyme disease, appeared weak while walking the runway in a lingerie show earlier this month.
This happened only five months after Bella publicly stated that modeling while on your period should be against the law, suggesting women deserve two weeks off work each month.
Hey everyone, I wanted to quickly address something a lot of you have been asking about. I recently chatted with a fan on TikTok who noticed I wasn’t quite myself, and they asked what was going on. Basically, I wasn’t feeling my best that day – I wasn’t at 100 percent, to be honest. Just wanted to share that with you all!
Last week, a TikTok user named worldoftali posted a video questioning Bella Hadid, asking what needs to happen to get her attention.
The TikToker wrote that Bella Hadid ‘looked like she was about to cry the entire show’ and asked viewers who they should ‘confront’ about it.

Bella shared in the comments that she started her period earlier that day and was still feeling unwell after being in the hospital recently.
She explained she was on her period and still feeling exhausted from the recent hospital visit, but she did her best and wanted to express her love, reassuring him that she was okay.
‘I’m sorry if I let u down. Love you I mean it’, she added.
This isn’t the first time Bella has spoken about her look at the fashion show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she previously posted – though she later deleted it – ‘Okay, let’s not act like these wings weren’t incredibly heavy, but they looked amazing!’
This announcement follows Bella’s recent comments to Vogue, where she discussed her desire for the White House to implement a two-week menstrual leave policy for women.
Bella shared her experiences with living with several chronic conditions, including Lyme disease, endometriosis, PCOS, and PMDD.
Endometriosis happens when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often causing significant pain. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal condition that can lead to irregular periods, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of PMS that affects mood.
Bella recently shared her personal struggles and proposed a policy where women would receive two weeks of leave during menstruation. She also believes it should be against the law for models to work while they are menstruating.

She stated in British Vogue’s June issue that it’s wrong models are expected to work during their periods, especially while dealing with endometriosis, calling it something that ‘should be illegal’.
I plan to discuss with the White House the idea of prohibiting women from working during their menstrual cycle, and even for the week leading up to it.
Bella admits she frequently overworks herself, often putting in 14-hour days in the fashion industry. This intense schedule often leads to burnout, and she’s currently in therapy to build her self-confidence.
She explained that work can be challenging, largely because people don’t fully grasp what it’s like to live with a long-term illness. She also shared that on some days, even simple tasks like showering can feel overwhelming.
She admitted that even a simple day off feels like a victory. If she can manage to shower and make breakfast, she considers it a real achievement, especially since she often wakes up in terrible pain.
Last week, viewers noticed the supermodel appeared unsteady on the Victoria’s Secret runway, and some thought she looked faint. This happened while she was walking with a very heavy pair of wings weighing around 50 pounds.
One fan noticed she seemed a bit tense and was clearly working to keep her wings in place, but still managed to deliver a great performance.
Even though she tried to look calm, a fan said Bella seemed like she was about to faint near the end of her walk.

The event happened while the model, who was recently featured on the cover of Vogue, was wearing a flowing white and silver outfit. It included a tight-fitting corset and a pleated skirt.
The performance happened shortly after her return from Germany, where she had been receiving treatment for long-term neurological Lyme disease at a hospital near Munich.
Last month, the model posted very personal photos from her time in the hospital – images of her with IVs and oxygen – and apologized to her 61 million Instagram followers for being absent recently.
According to a recent report in the Daily Mail, she often takes days or weeks to reply to text messages. However, she doesn’t simply ignore people; when she’s able, she does respond and will let them know if she’s unavailable, saying something like, ‘I can’t talk today, sorry.’ Those close to her understand this pattern.
A source says Hadid typically takes a break from public life when she’s recovering from something challenging.
They noted that Bella is doing well overall, but still has potential to grow. She tends to withdraw when stressed, and seems to regain energy when she has time to herself.
Gigi Hadid has publicly shared her ten-year struggle with chronic Lyme disease. This condition causes a range of neurological issues, such as headaches, difficulty concentrating, sensitivity to light and sound, inflammation, and numbness.
She’s been open and honest about her struggles with mental health, revealing she experiences both depression and anxiety.
For World Mental Health Day, the Vogue cover star shared a screenshot of a touching message starting with ‘Hi. Sorry I haven’t texted you back,’ highlighting the quiet battle many face with anxiety.
She recently shared a personal and honest post on Instagram about how difficult her struggles with mental health have been.
She explained that anxiety and depression can feel overwhelming, leaving people unable to function and suffering in silence.

I’ve come to realize that being deeply feeling isn’t a flaw, but simply who I am. My ability to notice things, understand others, and feel empathy can actually be a strength.
According to a source, Hadid is receiving a lot of support from her close circle, including her mother, Yolanda, siblings Gigi and Anwar, and boyfriend Adan Banuelos, a 36-year-old rodeo rider from Mexico and the United States.
Hadid and her partner started dating towards the end of 2023, after Hadid moved to Texas. She described the move as a fresh start for both her love life and herself.
In a 2024 interview with Allure, she explained that after a decade in the modeling industry, she felt she was investing more into her career than she was receiving in return.
When I’m not feeling well, I prioritize self-care. And for the first time, I’m allowing myself to be authentic and not pretend to be okay.
You know, people often comment on how happy I seem in photos, and honestly, it’s true. I really am happy now. It’s funny, but looking back, even the days I used to consider ‘good’ don’t compare to how I feel now – my current ‘bad’ days are better than my previous ‘good’ ones!
