Bel-Air season 3 and the best (and worst) shows streaming on Peacock right now

As a self-proclaimed binge-watching aficionado with over a decade of experience under my belt, I must say that Peacock has truly surprised me! The platform might not be everyone’s first choice, but it certainly shouldn’t be overlooked, especially when it comes to shows like Bel-Air season 3.

frankly speaking, Peacock might not be your initial choice for a streaming platform, but it definitely has some excellent content to offer. And that certainly includes Bel-Air season 3! The next installment of the captivating story premiered on Aug 15, 2024 with the first three episodes, and we’re eagerly awaiting to see what the season unfolds.

In the third season of this show, I find myself basking in the summer vibes as the main characters take a break from school. Interestingly, Will and Carlton seem to be finding some common ground and providing mutual support, which is quite intriguing. What truly hooks me about this series is its raw drama – it’s got me completely invested! Right now, I can confidently say that Bel-Air is one of the finest shows on TV, and I have no doubt that the third season will exceed expectations. The first three episodes alone have set a high bar!

With Bel-Air’s third season now streaming on Peacock, there are other engaging shows on the platform that you might want to explore if you haven’t done so already. Moreover, there are a couple of shows that you may want to give a miss. Here are three recommended shows and two that you can afford to overlook on Peacock.

  • Bel-Air
  • Mr. Throwback
  • We Are Lady Parts
  • Poker Face
  • Worst: Those About to Die
  • Worst: Love Undercover

Mr. Throwback

I’m not a huge sports person so I’m surprised I’m even writing this. But if you like Stephen Curry and a mockumentary style type of series, then you definitely want to check out Mr. Throwback. The 6-episode show, which premiered in July 2024, has its lighthearted and funny moments, which is what makes it stand out. It’s definitely not what you’re expecting going in, which is why it’s so intriguing. Honestly after watching this, I can see more scripted work for Curry. He’s definitely talented when it comes to acting!

Poker Face

Mysteries involving murder are among the most engaging types of series! They provide an exciting challenge for viewers who enjoy trying to unravel the plot alongside the characters as events unfold. When executed skillfully, there’s nothing quite like it. One show that does this exceptionally well is the crime comedy-drama, Poker Face, featuring Natasha Lyonne. This series debuted in January 2023, and fortunately, a second season has been confirmed, though its release date remains undetermined. In the interim, make sure to catch up with it; you won’t be disappointed!

We Are Lady Parts

A series that truly stands out is We Are Lady Parts on Peacock. The sitcom combines diversity, music, drama, and everything else in between to bring together a wonderful story. The series follows an all-female Muslim punk rock band. Set in London, the girls deal with friendships, relationships, culture, and more everyday life challenges. And when the band finds success in We Are Lady Parts season 2, that brings its own challenges too. I like how this show is different than others, and the musical aspect of it makes it an enjoyable watch. Season 2 was released in May 2024, and there’s no word yet on whether a third season is happening.

Worst shows to watch on Peacock

Those About to Die

In simpler terms, the series “Those About to Die,” which features Anthony Hopkins, isn’t a standout production. Despite his legendary status in the industry, the storylines are intricate yet dull, and unfortunately, it’s not worth your time. Even though I usually enjoy historical dramas, this one misses the mark. The gladiator series that premiered in July 2024 has received similar feedback from many viewers, as evidenced by its low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes (49% from critics and 61% from audiences). However, it’s important to note that these ratings don’t always reflect the quality of a show or movie. But in this case, I would recommend skipping it.

Love Undercover

Peacock seems to have a knack for producing reality shows, but “Love Undercover” wasn’t my cup of tea. I thought it had potential with sports stars seeking love in America, unbeknownst to their dates, reminiscent of romantic movies where the leading man is actually royalty. However, it just didn’t grab me. It might have benefited from more dramatic elements typical of reality series. The first season, consisting of ten episodes, premiered in May 2024, but there’s no news yet about a potential second season.
