From the very beginning, my path towards the spotlight was set in motion long before my television debut, all the way back in my cherished hometown of Queensland.
Before her participation in Married at First Sight, the 37-year-old restaurant owner, who had a public breakup with her husband Tim Gromie on camera, made some unexpected media appearances connected to her business.
2020 saw Katie emotionally sharing with The Courier Mail about her heartbreak when she found out that her Sunshine Coast eatery was burglarized during the Covid-19 restrictions, leaving them without their iPads and cash.
The incident highlighted her deep ties to the community as owner of the EATS Restaurant in Eumundi.
Two years ago, Katie courageously wrote an open letter to beach bullies in the Sunshine Coast Daily (Noosa), who were making offensive remarks about her appearance.
Her response achieved overwhelming public support and shed light on the issue of public harassment.

The entrepreneur has also been celebrated for her creativity and environmental consciousness.
Her unique Eco Bling items, crafted from repurposed materials, gained her acclaim and a position as a panelist at the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival, demonstrating her adaptability beyond the realm of reality television dramas.
This week, the reality television personality shared an update following their rocky beginning in married life, which they experienced not long ago.
Katie was cruelly turned down by the groom, Tim Gromie, who expressed his desire for a ‘small-framed blond’ instead.
Despite the awkwardness of their honeymoon at Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain, Katie remained hopeful and continued her efforts to establish a bond with Tim.
Six months after wrapping up her reality show, Katie has been devoting herself to personal empowerment projects.
Recently, she underwent an awe-inspiring photo session at Studio Republic, where the bride radiated with an unmistakable luminance.
Studio Republic, with a focus on fostering self-assurance, specializes in capturing powerful images of its models.

After the meeting, the studio posted a video online featuring Katie talking about her life after MAFS.
Katie mentioned in the video that her primary concern right now is acting as her own partner or love for herself.
‘The only person I want to manifest love for is myself right now,’ she said.
‘I feel like if your cup’s full, then it can overflow you.’
After appearing on a reality TV show, Katie has since focused on learning to feel at ease with herself, inside and out.
She shared, “Throughout my life, I’ve embarked on quite a journey. It’s only recently that I’ve truly felt comfortable and content within myself. This experience seems to further solidify that sense of self-acceptance.
‘We get one body and one chance about being here now in this moment. I want to do it shining.’
