Beetlejuice is now available to watch on Netflix ahead of sequel’s release

As a gamer with a penchant for all things fantastical and a soft spot for Tim Burton’s whimsical world, I must say that the arrival of Beetlejuice on Netflix is like finding an elusive rare item in a treasure hunt! The original film was a cornerstone in my horror-comedy collection, with its unique blend of humor, horror, and heart.

Beetlejuice has landed on Netflix, in time for the sequel coming to cinemas soon.

On September 6th, “Beetlejuice” is set to premiere, and if you’re not familiar with the fantastical universe created by Tim Burton, you can catch up on it right now.

1988’s original storyline revolves around the protagonist, Michael Keaton, who is called upon to terrify the fresh occupants of a newly acquired residence. During this encounter, he interacts with Lydia Deetz (played by Winona Ryder) and her family.

Before the long-awaited theater release of the sequel, fans in the UK and Ireland have the opportunity to watch the legendary fantasy horror movie on Netflix. Additionally, Amazon Prime Video is streaming the film in the UK as well.

In the next installment, Burton resumes his directing role, continuing the story of Lydia and her loved ones – husband Rory (Justin Theroux) and daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega). This time, Lydia encounters Betelgeuse once more.

During a latest conversation, Keaton hinted at elements of the much anticipated sequel. He revealed that unlike the original, this new installment focuses more on character development.

He remarked, “This one has a more impactful narrative.” He explained that the audience would find a deeper bond with the characters, and there were elements he hadn’t anticipated, which were truly enchanting. Instead of expressing eagerness for specific events like, “I can hardly wait for this thing to appear,” or, “I’m just excited for Beetlejuice to go wild,” he said.

Besides the previously mentioned actors, the ensemble also features Catherine O’Hara returning as Delia, along with Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe. Notably, Dafoe will be portraying a retired B-movie actor transitioned into a detective.

As a gamer, I haven’t watched any gameplay footage just yet, but it was quite engaging to dive into the experience. In this game, I embody a cop in the afterlife, which means I’m, well, a deceased character. Interestingly enough, in my previous life, I was an action star in B-movies. Unfortunately, an accident led me to this side of existence.

Because of my abilities, I’ve taken on the role of a detective in the afterlife, which is essentially my occupation. However, being a former B-movie action star influences this job of mine.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is in cinemas on September 6.
