Beckhams’ Star Power for Nicola Peltz’s Film Now Forgotten Amid Family Feud

When Nicola Peltz premiered her movie Lola in February 2024, it seemed like fate had showered her with priceless publicity.

Although her Instagram following is somewhat smaller, numbering at about 3.1 million, the film she penned, directed, and acted in garnered significant attention due to the presence of her well-known in-laws. Specifically, Victoria and Brooklyn Beckham graced the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere.

Individually, the ex-Spice Girl and her husband David have been actively posting on social media, showcasing branded baseball caps to a collective following of 121 million. Notably, David expressed immense pride for his daughter-in-law in one of these posts.

The movie, heavily criticized by dissatisfied reviewers as ‘poverty porn’ and a self-indulgent ‘vanity project’, undoubtedly benefited from a much-needed positive response.

The first public appearance took place a month following when both David and Victoria Beckham posted birthday messages for their daughter Nicola on her 30th. Victoria’s tribute included a video of herself dancing on the beach with her daughter-in-law, accompanied by the caption: ‘I love you so much.’

The duo appeared much more as cherished companions than a mother and future daughter-in-law, strongly suggesting that any previous tension regarding Nicola’s wedding gown had been resolved and put behind them.

Over the past week, there has been a noticeable shift in relationships. Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola attended any of David’s 50th birthday celebrations, and according to The Mail, a disagreement with Nicola is reportedly causing the strain – despite the Beckham family’s continuous efforts to encourage and praise their eldest son’s wife since their wedding last year.

Reports suggest that the continuous disagreement between Victoria and David is pushing them to a critical stage, and there’s worry that their family might not recover from this rift.

In the year 2022, Brooklyn and Nicola got married at an estate belonging to a well-known actress’ family in sunny Palm Beach, Florida.

Right from the start, Nicola and Victoria became embroiled in whispers of a feud when Nicola decided against wearing Victoria’s wedding gown, choosing a Valentino couture dress instead.

Nicola and Victoria were quickly caught up in rumors of a disagreement as soon as it was revealed that Nicola opted for a Valentino couture dress rather than Victoria’s design when attending her wedding.

Despite the rumors, Nicola dismissed them and continued to show strong support for each other instead.

Instead of constantly praising each other’s work, attending events together, and sharing heartfelt tributes on social media, they used to do so quite frequently. However, this mutual display of affection has become conspicuously absent following David’s 50th birthday and Victoria’s birthday last month.

It’s not a fight! It seems like everywhere I look, people are using the word ‘feud,’ ‘feud,’ ‘feud!’ Perhaps they sensed something? Now they’re calling it a feud?

She shared with The Times: “I believe the whole situation stemmed from not getting to wear Victoria’s bridal gown, a fact I’ve mentioned before. However, the real story is that I deeply desired to wear it; I found it so breathtakingly beautiful that Brooklyn’s mother had made it for me! I was genuinely thrilled about wearing it, but in the end, I didn’t get the chance.

She clarified by stating, ‘However, I genuinely looked forward to donning her gown. It saddens me to encounter comments suggesting I had no intention of wearing it. That assertion is simply unfounded.’

Previously, she clarified to Variety that it was primarily a matter of practicality, aiming to dispel the notion that she deliberately slighted her mother-in-law or that Victoria was avoiding her. Instead, she emphasized that her intention was always to don a piece by Victoria Beckham.

She mentioned that she initially intended and strongly desired to choose a certain dress, but several months later, she discovered that her workshop was unable to make it. Consequently, she needed to select another dress instead,” she stated.

‘She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started.’

Brooklyn, in a rather muted defense, added: ‘Everyone gets along, which is good.’ 

It appeared that the relationships between the two pairs were particularly cordial, as David and Victoria often openly endorsed Nicola’s endeavors in public.

Before they officially got married, Victoria showed her affection for her future daughter-in-law by spending time watching her favorite Christmas movie with her.

In 2020, Nicola appeared for a short time in the Netflix Christmas romantic comedy “Holidate,” which starred Emma Roberts as well.

Victoria took care to observe Nicola at work, as she posted an Instagram Story while watching a holiday film and wrote: ‘Now for the festive season kickoff! Can’t wait to catch my first Christmas movie of the year! Hugs @nicolaannepeltz.’

In the latter half of 2021, before Nicola’s first directorial venture with the film Lola, David and Victoria actively supported the production by posting pictures on Instagram where they were seen donning the movie’s promotional hats.

In 2024, the movie that was ultimately unveiled featured Nicola in a dual role – she played the lead character Lola and also penned and directed the entire production herself.

I made the bold choice to bare my chest for that photo, proudly displaying my multitude of tattoos in the sultry shot. The caption reads: “Lola James is on the way, featuring the talented @nicolaannepeltz.

Simultaneously, Victoria flaunted her slender figure in a sleek, minimalist black fitted tank top, also highlighting the hat in her self-portrait photograph.

The singer-turned-designer gushed alongside: ‘So excited!!! Kisses @nicolaannepeltz.’ 

Three years later, when it was time for Lola’s premiere, the family ensured they presented a display of support.

Nicola snuggled close to her mother-in-law during the glitzy opening night at the Regency Bruin Theatre in Los Angeles.

Nicola and Victoria seemed to ignore the previous wedding dress controversy as they took multiple pictures with each other, both sporting garments from Victoria Beckham’s clothing line.

In a tender gesture, the rising star wrapped her right arm around the fashion designer, while Victoria clasped her hand firmly with hers.

Victoria likewise shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, expressing her pride publicly with the words: ‘We are beyond thrilled about you!’

In addition, it came to light that Victoria and Nicola had resolved their disputes while enjoying $2-each vodka cocktails and engaging in a round of Nicola’s preferred memory game called Fish Bowl.

As a dedicated admirer putting it in my own words, I’d say that rumors are swirling about them getting even closer due to their shared afternoons filled with laughter over a delightful drink boasting a 5.5% alcohol content and 196 calories per serving on Sunday afternoons.

Last year, Brooklyn shared his thoughts for the first time on the growing bond between his mother and wife. They found common ground by enjoying cans of Vodka Snapper, a beverage made from vodka and fruity iced tea.

On Sundays, we savor traditional roasts. Sharing a bottle of wine with my father is something we both enjoy. Meanwhile, my mother and Nicola prefer to share a bottle of vodka-infused beverage, as was recently disclosed.

Instead of watching television, we primarily engage in conversations and laughter. It’s more about seizing the moment, sharing drinks, meals, and savoring the pleasure of spending time together.

Occasionally, we engage in playing games, and it was my wife who shared with our family a favorite pastime called Fish Bowl that we enjoy bringing out during get-togethers.

It seems that Brooklyn is overjoyed and feels a sense of relief because his mother and wife, who will turn 50 in April, have made up after a disagreement. They played a game together a couple of weeks ago, and it appears they both enjoyed it.

One source says that ‘time was a great healer’ but now the two women are ‘super close.’

In a chat with Grazia magazine, Brooklyn mentioned that he and his own family are extremely close, and his spouse’s family shares the same bond as well.

My locations lie midway between London and Miami, which is fantastic. I’m grateful for my football team because it allows me to catch their games as often as possible. On occasion, we even visit London, while other times they make the trip to Los Angeles. Occasionally, we also meet up in Miami.

It was stated on Monday that Brooklyn and Nicola planned to skip the Met Gala to attend a birthday party instead, yet neither event saw their presence.

David appears to be eagerly trying to reconcile with Brooklyn, as he’s concerned that the past might be reoccurring, given his contentious split with his father Ted back in 2005.

Although David, aged 50, and Ted, aged 77, currently enjoy a very tight bond, there was a time when they barely spoke to each other.

In this context, the word ‘lost’ carries a heavy emotional weight because it was exactly how David felt when he had a falling-out with his father.

It deeply saddened Ted that his son seemed to have cut off all communication with him. Those years were filled with tension, and the entire family felt the weight of it heavily.

Previously, it was disclosed that David had to endure a wait of more than twenty years to gain his father’s approval for his thriving football career.

In 2024, during an interview with James Corden on his podcast series “This Life of Mine,” David revealed that his relentless ambition stemmed from the need to meet his father Ted’s approval, achieving the ‘you’ve made it boy’ moment only after he reached 100 career milestones.

The Beckham family has been facing anxieties due to concerns about not resolving their dispute with Brooklyn, as Victoria has reportedly spent many restless nights worrying about the conflict.

According to a source, this situation is Victoria’s greatest fear – the idea of any of her children having disagreements keeps her awake at night.

Over the past week, her social media feed is brimming with pictures taken at different parties thrown in honor of David’s 50th birthday, which includes a festive gathering held at their residence in the Cotswolds.

The joyous festivities reached their peak when a grand party took place at the prestigious Michelin-starred restaurant, Core, in London on Saturday evening.

At the high-profile event, renowned celebrities like Tom Cruise were in attendance. Interestingly, among the attendees were Romeo (age 22), Cruz (20), and Harper (13), children of David and Victoria. However, it’s worth mentioning that Brooklyn, their eldest child, was not present at this occasion.

As a die-hard fan, I’d been eagerly anticipating seeing Brooklyn and Nicola grace either the Met Gala or David’s birthday bash. However, it seemed they had plans to attend both—or so the whispers suggested. Regrettably, neither event was graced by their presence; they were nowhere to be found at either gathering.

It seems that Brooklyn had initially intended to go to David’s 50th birthday celebration, but ended up not attending due to feeling uneasy after perceiving that Nicola was being unfairly accused of causing the strain in David’s family relationships.

It was also stated that the claims about Brooklyn and Nicola being turned down when they proposed a private celebration for David’s birthday with David and Victoria were false.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Nicola reportedly wishes to meet separately with US site TMZ’s knowledge, as there seems to be tension between them and Kim Turnbull, Romeo’s girlfriend, whom they find challenging.

Last month, David’s early celebrations in Miami were not attended by Brooklyn because he was also absent from parties held in the Cotswolds, France, and London the previous week.

After being excluded from his brother’s birthday celebration, it became known that Brooklyn also chose not to attend their father’s planned fishing trip for his 50th birthday, inviting only the brothers.

Six months ago, The Mail reported that David planned a brief getaway for Brooklyn, but unfortunately, Brooklyn didn’t join him, even though he was already in the United Kingdom on the very same day as David’s trip with Romeo and Cruz.

Sources have suggested that Brooklyn’s decision was influenced by his American actress wife Nicola.

‘Brooklyn was asked to join them ages ago,’ one claimed.

Later, he arrived in London on schedule, yet decided not to enter. Once more, David adapted well and enjoyed himself immensely with Cruz and Romeo.

According to The Mail, Kim Turnbull, Romeo’s girlfriend, is being unfairly blamed as a scapegoat in the conflict between Brooklyn and David. It appears that Nicola is at the heart of the disagreement.

Kim and Brooklyn appeared to have a very close relationship during a short time frame, evident from pictures of them together in 2016; however, rumors claiming they were romantically involved are off the mark, as reliable sources confirmed to The Mail.

Indeed, Cruz, his younger brother at age 20, effectively quelled the rumors by replying to an Instagram post featuring a photo of Romeo and Kim together.

In a previously removed post, one individual questioned: ‘Is it okay to date someone who was your brother’s girlfriend? That sounds pretty casual.’

Cruz replied: ‘Brooklyn and Kim never dated.’

Over the weekend, a friend shared with Katie Hind from The Mail that this situation has no connection with Kim and instead solely revolves around Nicola.

‘All David and Victoria want is their son back – and they will be there to welcome him any time.’

According to their account, it seems that Brooklyn’s spouse often initiates disagreements prior to family gatherings, which frequently results in her husband being unable to attend.

Some people suspect that it is Nicola’s associates who are responsible for the leaked information suggesting that Kim is the reason for Brooklyn’s family rift, with some going as far as saying that he explicitly declined to attend any gathering where Kim was in attendance.

According to a trusted confidant, Brooklyn had a strong bond with Kim due to their mutual friendship with Rocco. They often spent time together as part of a close-knit circle. However, it’s important to note that this friendship dates back many years, and there was never any romantic involvement between Brooklyn and Kim.

It appears that Nicola feels uncomfortable with Brooklyn socializing extensively with the Beckham family, possibly due to his past relationship with Kim and her connections within the family. This might be why she prefers to avoid them.

She claims otherwise, however, it’s apparent that Nicola has exerted control over him since their wedding. The family, which includes his brothers, are tired of this situation and no longer tolerate it.

‘The story being circulated among other media sources suggests that Romeo is in a relationship with his brother’s former girlfriend. Since this seems unusual, it might explain why they prefer to avoid family gatherings when she is present.’

However, all these claims are false, causing distress among Romeo and his parents since they believe Kim is being manipulated by Nicola to create a divide. It infuriates Romeo to even entertain the notion that he would introduce an ex-girlfriend of Brooklyn into the family under such circumstances, as there was never any romantic involvement.
