On Tuesday, Romeo Beckham playfully jabbed at his dad David by replicating one of his workout selfies without a shirt.
In the photo, the 22-year-old man is seen without a shirt, striking a pose at a squat rack. He’s dressed in black gym shorts and blue sneakers.
In front of the camera, Romeo smiled brightly as someone displayed an iPhone screen showing a black-and-white image of his father, both of them mirroring identical poses.
In addition to the picture he posted, Romeo captioned it with: “Funny dad @davidbeckham.” His father found it amusing and shared the photo on his own Instagram Stories.
Romeo is continuing in the tradition set by his father, and he recently modeled for a Hugo Boss advertising campaign, closely resembling his renowned father in appearance.
After David shared that he and his wife Victoria often tease each other during their workout sessions, he gave a glimpse into their challenging joint routines.
The pair frequently post photos of each other during their workouts, and Victoria often thrills her audience by sharing pictures of her husband without a shirt on social media.
In conversation with Men’s Health UK, at the age of 49, David disclosed that he and Victoria, also 50, engage in exercise routines around five to six days a week. This regular workout schedule was established after he persuaded Victoria to join his training sessions led by personal trainer Bob Rich.
He has been persistently encouraging Victoria to exercise with personal trainer Bob for quite some time. After much persuasion, she consented to modify her fitness routine. Now, we train together for five days, occasionally squeezing in an extra day on the sixth.
I really enjoy working out with Victoria, even if we often tease each other quite a bit. In fact, we both have our fair share of good-natured banter. However, when it comes to listening to Bobby, Victoria tends to do her own thing.
I’m someone who seldom takes breaks, but even with just 90 seconds of rest, I find myself eager to get back on my feet in as little as 25 seconds.
In his conversation with the media outlet, David shared the startling incident of the debilitating injury he endured in 2011.
In the midst of his career with LA Galaxy in sunny Los Angeles, the ex-footballer sustained an injury that fractured both his back and spine during a match, eventually prompting him to retire in 2013.
David candidly disclosed some private information about his severe injury, saying, “In truth, I fractured my spinal column. At the time, I resided in Los Angeles, and I sustained a crack in my spine.
‘I had pain after a game, I went for a scan and couldn’t find anything wrong with it.
I had a strong suspicion that something wasn’t quite right in that area. To confirm my suspicions, I underwent a test where they injected me with dye. Unfortunately, my fears were confirmed as the result showed it was a problematic one.
Approaching his fifties, David spoke candidly about his body feeling more vibrant than it had in quite some time. He also generously disclosed the special regimen he follows to maintain his fitness.
David frequently exercises at home with his spouse Victoria, and he mentioned that he relishes playing padel tennis three days a week, along with daily workouts to keep up his astonishing body shape.
David has a family of four kids – Harper (age 13), Brooklyn (age 25), Cruz (age 19), and Romeo (age 22) – who he shares with his wife, Victoria, to whom he’s been wedded since the year 1999.
