Mia Hewitt was enjoying the last of Sydney’s warm weather on Wednesday.
Oh my gosh, I just had to tell someone! Mia Hewitt, Bec and Lleyton’s oldest, was at Shark Beach today and she looked incredible! Seriously, she was swimming and totally showing off how fit she is – she’s absolutely stunning! I couldn’t help but notice, she just looks amazing.
The 20-year-old musician stripped down to a striped bikini in tones of orange, red and black.
Going makeup-free, Mia wore her brunette locks down around her face and skipped the accessories.
After my swim, I love finding a sunny spot on the grass to relax. There’s nothing quite like stretching out with a towel and catching up on my phone – it’s my little slice of heaven!
She left wearing a long, floral dress and a straw hat, giving off a relaxed, bohemian vibe.
Mia recently opened up about what it was like growing up with a famous family, explaining that she intentionally avoided public attention for many years.
The singer, now fronting the folk band Father’s Favourite, explains that her parents intentionally kept her and her siblings out of the public eye as they were growing up, allowing her to form her own identity privately.
Mia Hewitt has grown up in the spotlight, having been born in 2005 to famous parents: tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt and actress Bec Hewitt. She’s the oldest of three children, with siblings Cruz, 17, and Ava, 15.
She shared with Stellar magazine that she did some photoshoots as a child, mostly with her parents, but this was her first time working on a project independently.
Mia explained that growing up, her family traveled a lot. This brought them closer together, but it also meant they were always conscious of being in the public eye.
We were very close for years, largely because we traveled constantly. That shared experience really kept us connected to reality. My siblings are my best friends, and we were all a bit more conscious of being in the public eye growing up than most kids.
The Hewitt family previously lived in the Bahamas before moving to Melbourne. Now, their daughter Mia lives in Sydney with her partner.
She revealed that growing up in the public eye was a surreal experience in many ways.
It’s strange because people think they have you figured out, but they really don’t. Especially if you become well-known at a young age, they tend to see you as a fixed identity.
It’s tough because people only see a surface-level image of who you are, not the real person you’re becoming.
Okay, so Mia isn’t just acting anymore, which is amazing! She’s seriously pursuing music now – she actually recorded an EP, which I’ve listened to like a million times, and she’s been performing live with this incredible band called Father’s Favourite. And the best part? She’s doing it all with her best friend, Chèrise! It’s just… everything I hoped for and more!
She explained that music has always been a steady presence in her life. She’d always dreamed of pursuing it, but lacked the self-assurance to do so.
I was homeschooled for a period, and I became quite withdrawn. However, I’ve since met some amazing people who share my interests, and their support has given me the courage to pursue my goals.
Now, she says performing is the highlight.
‘I love performing in front of people. That’s my favourite thing about being in the band.’
Her musical tastes are firmly rooted in the ’60s and ’70s, with Stevie Nicks a major influence.
‘Anything early rock ‘n’ roll has my heart,’ she said.
Asked about the ‘nepo baby’ label, Mia took a matter-of-fact stance.
She shrugged it off, explaining that she didn’t feel she had much choice. She acknowledged that her family connections had opened doors for her, and she was quick to admit she benefited from that.
However, she still works a regular retail job alongside creative pursuits.
‘My friends call it the Hannah Montana life,’ she quipped. ‘The best of both worlds.’
Mia’s mom, Bec, became well-known for her role as Hayley, a popular character on a TV show, from 1998 to 2005. She left the show when she became pregnant with Mia.
Reports in December 2024 suggested that Mia seems to be pursuing a similar career path to her well-known mother.
Mia was photographed on the set of a popular Australian TV show in Palm Beach, a show that first made Bec famous 26 years ago.
A Channel Seven representative confirmed to Daily Mail that Mia has been involved with the show for a while now.
According to a recent statement, Mia has worked as a freelance wardrobe assistant for H&A for the past year and a half.
Mia and a friend formed a folk-rock duo called Father’s Favourite. They jokingly referred to themselves as ‘The Queens of King Street’ in a recent post on the band’s Instagram.
Mia may be a struggling performer playing small venues around Sydney, but she’s far from broke. After her gigs, she typically goes home to her family’s luxurious $10.3 million estate in Glenhaven.
