Having navigated the treacherous waters of the music business herself, she is determined to shield her young prodigy from making the same mistakes she made early in her career.

On a Thursday, Mia Hewitt, the child of Bec and Lleyton Hewitt, expressed her bohemian spirit while performing at a gig in Sydney.

At The Midnight Special in Newtown, Mia, aged 18 and one-half of the musical duo Father’s Favourite, demonstrated her impressive musical skills during her performance.

With a distinct bohemian rocker vibe, Mia was undoubtedly prepared for her performance, sporting a sleek black leather jacket beneath a low-cut, floor-length black dress.

She completed the ensemble with a pair of retro brown boots as she arrived to the venue.

In the gentle wind of an evening in Sydney, Mia, with her cascading, wavy hair, maintained the bohemian vibe by draping a long, black-and-crimson scarf elegantly around her neck.

She finished her look with blush to accentuate her cheekbones and a light rose colour on her lips.

Meanwhile, Mia’s fellow musician, Cherise, opted for a comparable style, donning a flowing red dress adorned with delicate lace and floral details on the shoulders, as well as a ruffled collar.

The band’s Instagram page describes the group as a ‘bohemian folk rock duo.’ 

Cherise completed her ensemble by donning a pair of floral-patterned boots, which she styled over blue and white socks.

As I stepped into the venue, my companion and I were beaming with assurance and high spirits. We even managed to find humor along the way, exchanging a hearty laugh right there on the sidewalk.

As they socialized before their performance, the pair welcomed an additional member to their group – engaging in conversation with a male acquaintance outside the performance space.

The three seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely, engaging in lively conversation while one of them sipped on a short bottle of beer, getting excited and energized for the upcoming performance.

Back in August, the band gave their debut performance, and it seems that Bec, Mia’s ex-Home and Away co-star and mom, is eager to guide Mia towards a successful path in music.

Though primarily recognized for portraying beloved character Hailey Smith Lawson on Home and Away from 1998 to 2005, the actress dabbled in pop music for a short while too.

Following her popularity on TV, Bec put out a self-titled solo album in 2002, and her first single “All Seats Taken” peaked at number 10 on the ARIA charts.

Back in 1999, I was absolutely thrilled to witness the magical encounter of tennis ace Lleyton and musical sensation Bec right there on the tennis court during a charity match at the Starlight Cup! What a momentous occasion it was for their paths to cross!

It wasn’t until a few years had passed that the couple reunited, and they didn’t meet face-to-face until 2005. Following a rapid romance spanning just six weeks, they became engaged.

As well as singer Mia, they also share another daughter Ava, 12, and son Cruz 15.

It was recently claimed that Bec could be planning a return back in front of the cameras years after leaving her role as Hayley Smith Lawson on Home and Away in 2005.
