Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! It’s a disaster! Apparently, the people making the new Beatles biopics are being blocked from filming at Abbey Road! Can you even imagine?! Abbey Road! It’s like…sacred ground for us fans, and now they can’t even shoot there? I’m honestly devastated. How can they tell the Beatles’ story properly without showing them at Abbey Road? It’s a total catastrophe, I’m telling you!
Sony announced the actors for its four upcoming Beatles films earlier this year, ending months of rumors. All four movies are scheduled to come out in April 2028.
Paul Mescal, known for his role in ‘Gladiator II,’ will portray Paul McCartney in an upcoming film about The Beatles. He’ll be joined by Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
Now that filming has started, reports are surfacing that studio executives have been prevented from shooting scenes at the famous Abbey Road crosswalk.
Sam Mendes, the director, planned to recreate the iconic cover art from the Beatles’ 1969 album using the famous Abbey Road crossing.
Westminster Council has denied permission for filming at the iconic location because temporarily closing the road would likely cause significant traffic problems.

I heard from someone close to the situation that they refused the filming request because closing the road would be necessary to ensure everyone’s safety during the shoot. It’s a real shame, but safety has to come first, right?
The main problem is that so many tourists visit and cause disturbances by trying to copy the famous scene for photos.
This issue would become much bigger with all the actors and crew members needing to repeat the process for the film. Now, the filmmakers are considering cutting the scene altogether, as they prefer to avoid using computer-generated imagery, which they feel wouldn’t look realistic.
They’re hoping to find a way forward that’s close enough to the original plan to still be feasible.
Daily Mail has contacted Westminster Council for comment.
The actresses chosen to portray the wives of the Beatles in the upcoming biographical films were announced earlier this month.
Aimee Lou Wood, known for her role in The White Lotus, will portray Pattie Boyd, the wife of George Harrison. Saoirse Ronan, an Oscar-nominated Irish actress, will play Linda McCartney, who inspired many of Paul McCartney’s famous songs.
Anna Sawai, 33, known for her role in the drama series Shogun, will portray Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s wife. Mia McKenna-Bruce, 28, a British actress, will play Maureen Cox, who was married to Ringo Starr.

Entitled The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, the project was announced last year.
Each film will tell the story of The Beatles from a different band member’s point of view, starting with their early days in Liverpool in the 1960s, through their rise to global fame, and ending with their breakup in 1970.
For the first time ever, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, have agreed to allow movies to be made about their lives.
Mendes introduced the four women, saying Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are all remarkable individuals. He expressed his excitement that four highly skilled filmmakers agreed to participate in the project.
