Bear Grylls’ Shocking Admission About Holly Willoughby

In a recent statement, Bear Grylls acknowledged that Holly Willoughby is more intelligent, resourceful, and resilient than appearances suggest, after she faced a harrowing experience involving a fake kidnap and murder plot.

50-year-old British explorer and author discusses co-host Holly, aged 43, prior to the premiere of their upcoming Netflix series titled “Celebrity Bear Hunt,” set to be released on February 5.

Showing noticeable surprise at Holly’s character, Bear cautioned, “Be wary of her kind façade,” as he shared stories about their strong relationship developed during the show.

He pointed out during the show that she appears to be more intelligent, cunning, and resilient than one might initially assume, due to her pleasant demeanor. Let me assure you, I am not fooled by her kind exterior, and I plan on making it clear to her frequently.

Holly often expresses her fear by saying, “If I were a contestant, I’d be so terrified that I’d probably faint and weep in a bush.” However, I find her statement somewhat questionable.

Holly is not only charming but incredibly cooperative as well. She’s humble and free from egoistic tendencies. In essence, it was clear to me that our journey would take us into the wilderness.

‘I knew it was going to be a tough environment and I needed somebody with real grace.’

While working together, Holly learned from Bear that true bravery lies in confronting one’s fears, channeling them, and pressing forward regardless.

The previous host of This Morning, who is now 43 years old, has been chosen to lead Celebrity Jungle Survival – a show where well-known personalities are placed in the wilderness of Costa Rica and must evade the expert survivalist.

On this program, there were instances when I needed to delve into my inner strength and speak firmly to myself.

In such moments, having a figure like Bear Grylls by your side would be beneficial, as he often emphasizes that courage isn’t just the absence of fear, but rather facing it, channeling it, and pressing on regardless.

Those phrases truly resonate with you and provide assistance; undeniably, he’s imparted some valuable, versatile abilities on me. Moreover, immersing oneself in nature enables one to pause their thoughts, becoming more mindful and grounded.

She mentioned that her motivation for leading the latest show stemmed from the fact that her children, along with her TV producer spouse Dan Baldwin, are avid fans of Bear.

In our pre-production chat, I found myself genuinely inspired by Bear’s presence. We had a heart-to-heart before diving into the show.

‘He’s deeply passionate and absolutely enamored with it; you could say he exists, feeds, and thrives on it. It’s truly awe-inspiring to be in his presence.’

‘His love for this is more than just a hobby; it’s as if he was born to do it. Being near him feels like being around a force of nature, and that’s quite something!’

‘Having kids at different ages makes it quite hard to find something to watch all together.

‘The Celebrity Bear Hunt offers an exciting blend of thrill and adventure for my sons Harry, aged 15, and Chester, 10. Yet, it also provides a deeper focus on real-life connections, relationships, and dynamics that will captivate my daughter Belle, 13, and I.’

As an ardent fan, let me tell you, Holly admitted that she and Bear are like chalk and cheese. For those who tuned into I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! back in 2018, it’s no secret that she’s not exactly a bug enthusiast; in fact, she struggles with the creepy-crawlies.

She emphasized: ‘It’s crucial to stimulate yourself as you grow older. Continuously strive for novel experiences.’

12 participants, which include ex-tennis champion Boris Becker, ex-rugby player Danny Cipriani, broadcaster Steph McGovern, chef Big Zuu, singer Una Healy from The Saturdays, and actor Joe Thomas from The Inbetweeners, are participating in the Celebrity Bear Hunt.

Holly mentioned that the contestants, including Melanie Brown from the Spice Girls, model Lottie Moss, and Shirley Ballas of Strictly Come Dancing, were all powerful contenders.

Her co-presenter Bear said: ‘Holly’s great, Holly has been a friend for some years.

She’s well-known and comforting for celebrities as they exit the Bear Pit (elimination area), a challenging situation for them.

Wouldn’t everyone appreciate a touch of Holly’s coziness and compassion back at the campsite? Indeed, she embodies comfort perfectly.

Last year, the host of Dancing on Ice made a comeback to TV presenting following the imprisonment of Gavin Plumb, aged 37, who plotted an abhorrent act involving the kidnapping, rape, and murder of her.

Previously employed as a security guard, he received a life sentence, with a minimum of 16 years, following his trial in Chelmsford Crown Court.

She finally spoke out about the harrowing stalker experience, saying to The Sunday Times, “It’s been quite challenging. There’s no easy way to put it.

I’m utterly resolute, vowing not to let this trial swallow me whole. I may be built of strong mettle, but nothing could ever truly brace me for an ordeal such as this.

She acknowledged that she needed to consider the impact this could have on every area of her life, or she could opt to prioritize the positive and beneficial aspects instead.

Celebrity Bear Hunt is on Netflix on February 5.
