Beach Boys founding member breaks silence on Brian Wilson death
After the passing away of his lifelong friend and musical partner, Brian Wilson, at the age of 82, Al Jardine has chosen to share his thoughts.
In his statement, Jardine expressed, ‘Brian Wilson, who was not only my friend but also my classmate, teammate on the football field, bandmate in The Beach Boys, and a brother to me in spirit – I consider myself truly fortunate that he was part of our lives for as long as he was.’
Wilson, renowned for his iconic songs like “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations,” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” passed away following a heartrending struggle with health issues that eventually led to dementia.
Speaking as a lifestyle aficionado, I’d like to draw your attention to the Wilson brothers, specifically Carl and Dennis, who were not only my contemporaries but also the talented musicians behind The Beach Boys. Tragically, we lost Carl in 1998, while Dennis left us earlier in 1983. Their impact on music continues to resonate deeply today.
Jardine remarked that what’s giving him comfort at this moment is the idea that you are back together with Carl and Dennis, once more filling the air with their lovely harmonies.
Jardine expressed heartfelt appreciation towards the renowned musician-composer, stating, “You were a modestly grand figure who never failed to make me smile. Your music will continue to be celebrated eternally.

In a reference to their 1964 song “The Warmth of the Sun,” Jardine expressed, “‘Brian, I’ll truly miss you…but the warmth of the sun lingers with me tonight.’
