Okay, so as a huge fan of Vigil, I’m super excited! It looks like filming for season three has finally wrapped up. Suranne Jones just announced they’ve finished shooting all the new episodes, which is awesome news for anyone who loves that intense police thriller.
The actor portraying Amy Silva shared a photo on Instagram from the set, featuring her alongside Rose Leslie, who plays her character’s partner, Kristen Longacre.
“And that’s a wrap on Vigil III,” she wrote, adding: “Love you Rose Leslie.”
What to Read Next
As Deadline previously reported, the next season will follow the pair to the Arctic Circle, investigating the death of a British special forces operative.
Catching the killer and navigating a delicate political climate will be incredibly difficult for them, and the pressure could seriously strain their careers and relationship.
When the third series was announced, writer Tom Edge expressed his excitement that Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie would be back for a new story. He explained that this season would take them to the Arctic, where major global powers are vying for opportunities created by the melting ice.
The first two seasons of the show have received an average score of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the first season was especially well-received by critics.
According to a review in PerthNow, the second season is a solid police drama with competent characters. While the show has its share of surprises, it avoids the common pitfall of portraying police officers as unskilled or ineffective.

I was really glad they switched things up for the second season of Vigil! The first one took place almost entirely inside a submarine, which was intense, but a bit claustrophobic. The Guardian pointed out that moving the action out into the open air really helped the show – they even said it might have improved it, and I totally agree! It felt so much more expansive and exciting.
Viewers have responded positively to the show. One IMDb user called it a thrilling six-part BBC series, and acknowledged comments about its realism. They pointed out it’s clearly designed to be exciting and entertaining, rather than factual.
This show is intensely gripping and fast-paced, creating a feeling of being completely immersed in the action. It’s one of the most exciting things the BBC has produced in a long time.
Series three of Vigil does not yet have an airdate. Series one and two are on BBC iPlayer.
Okay, so the latest issue of Living Legends magazine just dropped, and it’s all about Taylor Swift! It’s a huge 100-page, full-color special, and as a Swiftie, I definitely need to grab a copy. You can find it at newsstands or order it online for only £8.99 – totally worth it for all the Taylor content!
