BBC’s nostalgic hit show is filming again in the UK

As a fan who grew up reading Enid Blyton’s timeless tales of adventure and camaraderie, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of “The Famous Five”! With a unique blend of youthful exuberance and adult intrigue, the series has managed to capture the essence of both the original books and modern storytelling.

The Famous Five is back filming season 2 after the success of the first instalment.

The reimagining of Enid Blyton’s classic children’s book series, the family-friendly BBC detective show, sparked some debate upon learning that notorious action director Nicolas Winding Refn (known for films like Drive and Only God Forgives) would be directing the program.

Despite appearing unusual at first glance, the collaboration proved successful. The first season garnered massive viewership and was renewed for a second one.

At present, production is underway in the United Kingdom. The teenage mystery series is preparing to reunite its detective team for a final installment, intensifying the risky assignments from season one, set against both the threats of war and the trials of adolescence.

Produced jointly by Refn and Matthew Read, “The Famous Five” features Diaana Babnicova portraying George, Elliott Rose as Julian, Kit Rakusen as Dick, and Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne. The lovable Bearded Collie Cross named Kip takes on the role of Timmy the dog.

In addition to the recurring actors Jack Gleeson, James Lance, and Ann Akinjirin, we have the new faces of MarĂa Pedraza, Amir Wilson, James Wilby, Rita Tushingham, Jonathan Aris, and Jamie Andrew Cutler joining our cast.

Originally stated: Famous Five TV series actor Jemima Rooper, who played George in the ’90s, appears as a new character, Angela Clutterbuck, a transient guest at a puzzling inn.

In a statement, director Winding Refn expressed his great joy at the upcoming revival of The Famous Five, as if it was rekindling the innocent happiness of his childhood self.

Experiencing a thrill as I bring to life the youthful dreams brewing in my mind and see these characters, who are almost like old companions, grow and change more and more. The upcoming second season promises to spark excitement and pure joy without any limits!

The Famous Five season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet. Season 1 is available on BBC iPlayer.
