I’m so excited for the fifth season! It’s going to have eight episodes, and from what I’ve heard, they’re adding two new cast members to the group. I can’t wait to see how they fit in!

Cameron Cuffe will play Constable Donal Gallagher, and Jenn Murray will play Doctor Sasha Cookson in the upcoming episodes. Their characters will meet, and a romantic connection is expected to develop between the former rugby player, now a police officer, and the direct and honest doctor.

The new series is also set to hit a milestone as it will air its 50th episode.

Mary McKeagney, Commissioning Editor for BBC Northern Ireland, said in a statement that “Hope Street” beautifully reflects the humor and heart of the area, and it’s wonderful that it’s resonated with viewers throughout the UK.

Reaching episode 50 is a huge accomplishment for everyone who works on the show, and we’re incredibly proud of how successful it’s become.
