BBC’s new Irish crime drama gets first look ahead of November release

As a devoted fan of gripping Irish dramas, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming BBC productions! The intrigue surrounding Crá, with its dark secrets and small-town mystery, has me hooked already. Having spent my summers in a quaint Irish village not unlike the one depicted here, I can only imagine the tangled web of deceit that lies beneath the picturesque landscapes.

The brand-new Irish crime series from the BBC, titled “Crá“, has shared several never-before-seen snapshots, set to air on our screens in November.

As a gamer, I’ve found myself immersed in a thrilling six-episode journey that transports me to an isolated Irish village nestled in the northwest. The storyline commences when I, as a local Garda named Barry Roche, stumble upon a chilling discovery – a body hidden deep within a bog.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of shock and sadness upon realizing that the corpse discovered by Barry’s colleague, Conall Ó Súilleabháin, is none other than his own mother who had been missing for over a decade and a half.

Since his personal involvement in the case disqualifies him, Conall partners with a journalist who hosts a true-crime podcast. Their aim is to shatter the veil of secrecy that has enveloped the village, revealing its hidden truths and uprooting the silence that has taken root there.

The cast includes Donal O’Healy, Alex Murphy, Hannah Brady, Barry McGovern, Rosin Murphy, Tara Brennan, Keeva Farren and Alan Mahon.

The series will be in Irish with English subtitles.

Simultaneously, the BBC revealed that the ninth season of Shetland, along with the tenth season which was approved simultaneously, will be released in November. The series will air on BBC One and iPlayer on a particular date.

Somewhere, it seems that the production of a second season for “The Night Manager,” which originally aired on BBC One in 2016, is either currently underway or set to begin soon. Additionally, news about a third season of the series has been confirmed, indicating that they are catching up after a significant break following the first season.

Crá’s exact debut date remains undisclosed, however, it will be broadcast on BBC Northern Ireland and made available for streaming on BBC iPlayer sometime in November.
