The BBC recently announced that they will be bringing back the popular Scottish sitcom “Only Child” with some fresh faces joining the cast.
The filming for the series has commenced, featuring Gregor Fisher, known for his role in Rab C Nesbitt, and Greg McHugh from Fresh Meat, portraying the characters of Ken and Richard Pritchard, a pair who have their fair share of disagreements as father and son.
In a press statement, the BBC has announced that production for the next season of the sitcom is currently taking place in Scotland.

The six-episode series, that received a nomination for the RTS Scotland’s Best Comedy Award, is said to be filming on-site in Glasgow, Paisley, Helensburgh, and Dunlop.
The second series, penned by Bryce Hart, will bring back the turbulent Pritchard family for another round of escapades. Expect them to argue over various topics such as driving lessons, explaining modern technology like QR codes, and even purchasing their own coffins.

I’m excited to hop back into the game for season 2 alongside Amy Lennox, who you might recognize from Holby City. Also joining us are Clare Barrett, known for her role in Fréwaka, Robin Laing from Outlander, and Paul Rattray, a familiar face from Game of Thrones. It’s going to be an incredible journey!
I’m thrilled to announce that for the upcoming second season, we’ve got some exciting new additions to our team! These include Clive Russell, who charmed us all in Dept. Q, the brilliant Jenny Galloway, the hilarious Kevin Bishop, and the talented Tam Dean Burn. Can’t wait to see them bring their characters to life!
Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning for BBC Scotland, stated: “Only Child resonated greatly with viewers who grew fond of Ken and Richard. Bryce has penned another script brimming with heartwarmth and humor that will undoubtedly make the audience chuckle and perhaps shed a tear or two.

I’m eager to find out what their journey through life has been like, especially since they’ve been facing the highs and lows of contemporary living side by side.
Happy Tramp North is responsible for creating the show, and their executive producer, Neil Webster, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We’re thrilled to be resuming production on another series. Greg and Gregor reprise their roles as the Forres family patriarchs, with all the cast and crew from the first series joining them once again.
Season 1 of Only Child is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
The latest print issue of Digital Spy is available now! You can purchase the Oasis – Live in ’25’ special edition at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
