Jodie Campbell, Sekou Diaby, Aruna Jalloh, Myles Kamwendo, and Josh Tedeku will all reprise their roles as Leah, Toby, Femi, Omar, and Jaheim in the upcoming series, as the tension mounts for these characters ahead of their impending exams.

At St Gilbert’s, there is a strong ambition among the teenagers who are set on making significant strides and envisioning their lives beyond it. However, a nearby school stirs up fierce competition that leads to disorder and potentially endangers their future prospects.

what obstacles must these scholarship recipients overcome in order to emerge victorious?

In his own words, the series creator Daniel Lawrence Taylor, who is set to reappear as Gus, expressed that “Boards” has held a profoundly personal significance for him. It’s been truly heartening to observe the audience resonate with the characters.

Right from the start, my goal has been to develop a humorous, truthful, and unapologetically Black narrative. In this last semester, I aim to conclude their journey as they tackle more complex challenges, strengthen existing bonds, and contemplate what lies ahead after graduation – a question that hangs heavy in the air.

Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, stated: “Boarders has been a delightful, witty, and relevant addition to our screens for the past two years. The exceptional young cast has given standout performances that have caught everyone’s attention. We can’t wait to revisit St Gilbert’s one more time to wrap up Daniel Lawrence Taylor’s popular comedy-drama series.

Since its premiere last year, Boarders has received significant praise, with its initial season achieving a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show, according to Variety, is both “witty and incisive,” and it skillfully explores the complexities of self-discovery when one is experiencing exclusion and objectification at the same time.

According to TIME Magazine, the program skillfully combines frankness with compassion, addresses societal issues while still maintaining a light-hearted tone.

Boarders seasons 1-2 are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
