After a successful season 28, the popular crime drama Silent Witness is now filming in Birmingham. The team, including Dr. Nikki Alexander, played by Emilia Fox, has moved its production there.

The popular crime drama Silent Witness will be back on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting February 2nd, with this season promising five intriguing stories spread across ten episodes.

First airing in 1996, Silent Witness began with Amanda Burton playing the central character, Dr. Sam Ryan, a forensic pathologist. William Gaminara and Tom Ward also appeared in earlier seasons as pathologists Leo Dalton and Harry Cunningham.

In season 8, Fox joined as Dr Alexander, a role she has been playing for 21 seasons.

The show’s main actors are joined by several guest stars this season, including Vinette Robinson, known for her roles in Boiling Point and Sherlock, Phaldut Sharma from EastEnders, Dino Fetscher of Fool Me Once, and Chris Reilly and Chris Coghill, who appear in Slow Horses.

The show also features guest appearances by Lydia Wilson (known for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue), Ben Batt (Riot Women), Selin Hizli (Am I Being Unreasonable?), Gerard Kearns (Waiting for the Out), Adam Rayner (Superman & Lois), Cat Simmons (The Bill), and Mollie Winnard (All Creatures Great and Small).

I’m so excited about this! Emilia Fox is playing Sylvia Fox in a new show called Signora Volpe, and it’s set in this gorgeous little medieval village in Italy called Panicale. Basically, Sylvia used to be a spy for MI6, but she’s moved to Italy and now finds herself getting involved in solving mysteries around town. It sounds like a really fun, cozy crime series!

Two series have aired on Acorn TV so far, with a third currently in production.

The new series of Silent Witness, season 29, begins on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on February 2nd. You can also watch previous seasons on BBC iPlayer.

The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops or order it online for only £8.99.
