BBC’s ’60s-set new Beatles drama reveals first look at cast transformations

Okay, so the BBC just dropped some news about their new show, Hamburg Days, and it’s about The Beatles! It’s gonna be a six-episode series following the band when they were first starting out, playing gigs in Germany back in the 60s. They even showed a first glimpse, and honestly, it looks pretty cool. As a Beatles fan and a gamer who loves a good story, I’m definitely adding this to my watchlist!

The film, Hamburg Days, takes place in 1960s Hamburg, specifically in the lively and smoky clubs of the St. Pauli district. It tells the story of an up-and-coming rock and roll band from Liverpool meeting two young artists, Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr.

The series, inspired by Klaus Voormann’s life story, tells how he and others played a key role in the rise of the Beatles, helping them become the most famous band in history.

The BBC has shared the first pictures of the actors playing the Beatles in its upcoming series. Rhys Mannion will portray John Lennon, Ellis Murphy will play Paul McCartney, and Harvey Brett is George Harrison. Notably, the role of Ringo Starr is not currently featured.

The movie also features Louis Landau playing Stu Sutcliffe, the Beatles’ first bassist, and Patrick Gilmore as their original drummer, Pete Best. Plus, Luna Jordan is amazing as Astrid Kirchherr, Casper von Bülow plays Klaus Voormann, and Laura Tonke really brings Nielsa Kirchherr to life. It’s a great cast overall!
