BBC teases new Wallace & Gromit film with first-look trailer
As a die-hard Wallace & Gromit fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming film, “Vengeance Most Fowl”. Having grown up with these charming characters, their return to our screens is like welcoming old friends back home. The trailer alone has sent shivers of anticipation down my spine!
The BBC has released the first trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
In the upcoming movie, we can expect the reappearance of the mischievous penguin Feathers McGraw, who originally appeared in the 1993 film “The Wrong Trousers” and had a brief appearance last year in “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget“.
In the latest escapade, Gromit shows signs of worry as Wallace leans excessively on his creations.
His fears are realised when Wallace creates a “smart gnome” that develops an evil mind of its own and causes chaos across the region. Though it soon becomes apparent that an old foe might be masterminding things.
The intense preview starts by showing Gromit looking anxious at a window, as a voice over the radio shares: “Reports are coming in about a surge of criminal activities in this area.
Next, the video shifts to show a crowd of upset individuals demonstrating outside 62 West Wallaby Street, a location that a journalist labels “the residence of the malevolent inventor, Mr. Wallace.
After Wallace declares his own innocence, it falls upon Gromit to investigate and discover the true culprit responsible for the criminal activities.
The production titled “Vengeance Most Fowl” introduces Ben Whitehead as the voice actor for Wallace, while Peter Kay reprises his role as police officer Albert Mackintosh.
Actors Adjoa Andoh (from “Bridgerton”), Reece Shearsmith (“Inside No. 9”), Lenny Henry (“The Rings of Power”), Diane Morgan (“Cunk”) and Lauren Patel (“Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”) round out the voice cast.
Lately, Nick, the director of Wallace & Gromit, has disclosed to Deadline that simple mechanical malfunctions felt rather ordinary. He expressed a desire for something edgier, with a definite, menacing purpose. So, Feathers McGraw’s return will likely bring just that – a character with a clear, sinister intent.
It was clear that Feathers McGraw, who had spent three decades behind bars, brooding over vengeance, made an ideal choice as a villain, given his intense motivation.
The animated adventure “Wallace & Gromit: Revenge of the Feathered Fiend” is set to debut both on BBC One and BBC iPlayer during the upcoming holiday season. Starting from January 3, 2025, it will also be available for streaming on Netflix worldwide.
