BBC sneakily drops Gavin and Stacey Christmas special clip
As a long-time fan of Gavin and Stacey, I must say that the anticipation for the upcoming Christmas special is almost unbearable! Having grown up with this hilarious show, its return to our screens feels like a much-needed dose of nostalgia during these challenging times. The idea of Nessa running a rickshaw business on Barry Island beach just adds another layer of absurdity and humor that I can’t wait to see play out.
The BBC has sneakily dropped a first look clip at the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special.
This cherished sitcom is coming back this month with a special holiday edition, set to broadcast on Christmas Day at 9 PM, both on BBC One and iPlayer. It’s been five years since we last saw the Christmas special.
In the final part of the 2019 broadcast on BBC iPlayer, they’ve released a sneak peek trailer. This tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming special gives fans an early peek at Nessa (played by Ruth Jones) embarking on a fresh business endeavor.
As a gamer, I’d say it like this: “I saw Nessa, always full of ideas, cruising around Barry Island on a rickshaw! She even had my beloved character pedaling one, with a couple of seniors enjoying the ride in the back.
Visibly struggling to cycle, she comes to a stop and asks her elderly customers to pay up
She says, “Alright, that’s all I can give you. You’ll need to continue walking from here on out,” and then asks for a fee of £75 for the ride.
One half of the couple is outraged at the price, having only been “on for a couple of minutes”.
In a gentle yet firm manner, Nessa addresses the discontent, expressing that her “aggressive words are quite unsettling.” Then, she suggests they settle the matter by utilizing Apple Pay for payment.
“I got Bluetooth in my bra,” she declares matter-of-factly, ending the clip.
This week, the broadcasting company unveiled several preliminary images from the upcoming special, depicting the West and Shipman families enjoying yet another festive season together.
At Pam and Mick’s place in Billericay, Essex, Gavin (Mathew Horne), Stacey (Joanne Page), Smithy (James Corden), Gwen (Melanie Walters), Jason (Robert Wilfort), and Uncle Bryn (Rob Brydon) are all laughing heartily during a joyous holiday celebration.
In an exciting development, the BBC is planning a unique tribute as the much-loved series comes to its end. This tribute includes a special radio broadcast with the series’ stars and a documentary entitled “A Bittersweet Goodbye,” which will be aired on New Year’s Day.
Gavin & Stacey series 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The Gavin & Stacey 2024 Christmas special will air at 9pm on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
