BBC responds to “unacceptable” David Walliams “Nazi salute”

The BBC addressed claims that comedian David Walliams performed two gestures reminiscent of a Nazi salute while filming the comedy talk show, “Would I Lie To You?” recently.

It’s said that the event transpired when Helen George, an actress from the show “Call the Midwife,” was sharing a tale about hurting her wrist by waving, as reported by The Times.

Walliams reportedly participated more enthusiastically in the escalating movements, culminating in him extending his arm in a gesture reminiscent of a historical salute associated with a controversial regime.

The broadcaster has criticized the behavior of Walliams, as reported by Digital Spy, with a BBC representative saying: “Employing such an inappropriate gesture is totally unjustifiable, and we extend our apologies to everyone present during the recording for any offense taken.

As a dedicated gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: “When it comes to the game we call life, an unacceptable incident occurred in our ‘Would I Lie To You?’ production house, Zeppotron, managed by Banijay UK. It’s not something we condone.

As a supporter who values respect and sensitivity, I firmly believe that making light of any deeply offensive actions, be they shared publicly or privately, has no place in any situation whatsoever.

Digital Spy has reached out to representatives of Walliams for comment.

Reporter Sebastian Topan, present at the Pinewood Studios taping, shared his account with the BBC about the incident.

According to reports, Rob Brydon, host of “Would I Lie To You?”, allegedly informed Walliams that the show would air before the 9 PM family-friendly time slot, implying that his actions might not be appropriate for a general television audience.

Furthermore, Toban clarified that during their ongoing conversation, Walliams repeated the gesture, followed by another suggestive movement with his second hand.

“The atmosphere was uncomfortable and weird,” Topan said.

The journalist went on, expressing his belief that Rob Brydon was trying to move past it swiftly. Meanwhile, David Walliams’ companions seemed uncertain about their next steps and failed to laugh.

The rest of the show seemed uncomfortable or out of place, since the incident, which occurred at the beginning of the recording, was akin to an elephant in the room.
