The BBC has addressed speculations concerning the continuation of Call the Midwife, clarifying that it’s not being cancelled.
It was revealed yesterday that the series is planning to conclude after 13 years of broadcasting, as speculation grows about its final season (the 15th) marking its last appearance on television. The announcement also mentioned a film, which will serve as the show’s ultimate farewell.
On the contrary, the broadcaster refutes these claims, stating that the popular series will continue to air.

The BBC announced with confidence: “Fans can rest assured that ‘Call the Midwife’ will continue to be a key part of the BBC family for many years ahead.
Previously mentioned, we have two Christmas specials, a fresh series, a movie, and a prequel series lined up. Later on, there will be a sixteenth series. In simpler terms, Call the Midwife is here to stay.
After sharing the news about the show, they assured fans that it would help alleviate any concerns, saying “Our team is still hard at work on Series 15… Some exciting foreign filming is right around the corner….!” The popular series Call the Midwife will be back with a new Christmas Special and Series 15 in 2026.xx.

Fans breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the news; one fan even commented, “Whew, I was starting to worry when I heard it on the radio this morning. What fantastic news!
This is fantastic news! In my opinion, Call the Midwife is simply the best television show.”
Another commenter said: “Thanks for clearing that up, I can’t wait to see what happens next with Call the Midwife.
It’s worth noting that a special two-part Christmas event has been planned. This event will be set in both Poplar and Hong Kong, paving the way for Season 15, which will premiere in the New Year.
In 2026, you can expect another prequel series to be aired, taking us back to World War II in the town of Poplar. On the other hand, the movie is set in 1972 outside our borders and promises to bring some beloved show characters into the spotlight.
