BBC Radio 1 Star Welcomes Baby Boy Reuben Amid Celebrity Congratulations!

Radio 1 presenter Katie Thistleton has given birth to her first child.

As an enthusiastic admirer, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news that my beloved broadcaster, who happens to be 35 years old, has recently become a mother! Last night, she unveiled her precious little one, a baby boy named Reuben, in a heartwarming social media post.

Last year, when Katie unexpectedly revealed her pregnancy during a broadcast, she was seen standing with her husband, Alex, in a recent photo.

She wrote: ‘Reuben Alexander Harris was born on the 6th March and he is THE CUTEST THING EVER.

‘The love I feel for my incredible husband and this little tiny person we’ve made is almost too much for me to bear.

‘I feel complete! And so grateful for our family and friends. And so in awe of/want to give a big hug to all the parents I know. And SO impressed with obstetricians and paediatricians and midwives.

‘I will never be able to put into words the feeling I felt when I first saw him ❤️ We are loving our sweet little new life together as a family of 3 and feeling so very blessed.

‘Ps. Reuben means ‘behold, a son’ and he was born to the Beatles ‘here comes the sun’ ☀️ obsessed.’

Katie, a co-host on Radio 1’s Going Home alongside Vick and Jamie, received an overflow of good wishes from her famous friends.

Clara Amfo wrote: ‘Congratulations! I hope he arrived to arrived to Lauryn’s voice! Xx’.

Rickie Haywood-Williams added: ‘Hi Reuben ✨ What a beautiful family’.

Heartfelt congratulations, Punam! Such delightful news indeed. I can hardly wait to meet your new addition and offer you a warm embrace, shining star mom!

Prior to joining Radio 1, Katie was known for presenting CBBC HQ and the CBBC Book Club.

She revealed her pregnancy news during a colleague quiz she hosted in October, causing quite a shock and surprise, as evidenced by their enthusiastic screams.

She asked everyone: “Could you share the most recent message you received on WhatsApp? If it’s not too much trouble, please open your WhatsApp to find out.

After they both showed surprise and exclaimed aloud, Katie clarified, “I’ve just shared a picture of the ultrasound with Matt and Mollie and messaged them that me and Alex are expecting a baby.

‘I was so scared that that would go wrong, like the WiFi wouldn’t send it.’

On hearing the news, Mollie from The Saturdays – who was pregnant with her second child Liliana along with her partner Stuart Broad – was especially thrilled. Katie, it seems, had been eagerly waiting to share the excitement with her fellow expectant mom.

She shared: ‘I mean, oh my god Mollie I’ve wanted to talk to you about this so much.

One time when you walked by us, I recall saying something like, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’ To which you replied, ‘I’ve been very ill.’ In response, I was secretly thinking, ‘Same here, I’ve been quite unwell, but I haven’t told anyone yet.’ However, I’m expecting a baby in March, so our health struggles might not be too far apart.

After the radio announcement, Katie took to Instagram to confirm her news with a video montage.

‘We’ve been married three gorgeous years today, feels like a good time to announce the next chapter. Watch for a surprise.’
