BBC One and CBBC’s new drama, Crookhaven, has released a sneak peek and introduced its cast, featuring Julie Hesmondhalgh (known from Mr Bates vs The Post Office and Broadchurch) and Dougray Scott (Vigil).
The new story, Crookhaven, is set in a hidden school for criminals and offers a fresh take on the typical high school story. It’s described as a captivating mystery with complicated characters, exploring themes of who we are, where our loyalties lie, and the families we create along the way.
This series is adapted from the beloved books by JJ Arcanjo. The first book was named one of the best children’s books of 2023 by The Sunday Times (according to Amazon), and the BBC calls the series a must-watch for families.
