BBC confirms UK release date for returning drama with Kit Harington

As a binge-watching enthusiast who’s been through the highs and lows of financial dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of “Industry”! With its gripping storylines, complex characters, and an insider’s look into the cutthroat world of high finance, it’s become a must-watch for me.

The BBC has confirmed when Industry season 3 will premiere in the UK.

The captivating series, set amidst the ruthless terrain of high-end finance, is returning on October 1st. On that very day, you’ll be able to stream all eight episodes on BBC iPlayer starting from 6am. Additionally, episode 1 will broadcast on BBC One at 10:40 in the evening.

In the United States, season 3 of a specific industry premiered on HBO in August, and it is set to conclude on Sunday, September 29.

Apart from bringing back series regulars like Sarah Parish and Marisa Abela, the third season of Industry also introduces Kit Harington, known for his role in Game of Thrones, to its star-studded lineup.

He’s playing Henry Muck, the CEO and founder of a green energy company that’s about to go public. The trading desk at Pierpoint looks to capitalise on the business’ rising success, but at what cost?

According to writer and consulting producer Joseph Charlton, the third season of “Industry” is expected to broaden its universe and offer fans fresh, intriguing content to explore.

“The world is bigger in a way that I think… audiences will find surprising,” Joseph teased.

The program isn’t merely recycling old content. Instead, it’s venturing into uncharted territories, and I find its exploration of the intricate links between finance, various industries, and global politics to be remarkably fresh and captivating.

“We’re gradually increasing our scope, enlarging the perspective, revealing not just the immediate managers but also their superiors, and eventually showing how a large investment bank fits into the broader social structure, shedding light on its position within society as a whole.

Last month, Harington explained why he won’t watch Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon.

He said, “I believe I stayed too long, personally.” Wishing them nothing but success, I hope they are thriving and everything is going splendidly for them.

I highly doubt I’ll ever tune into that series, and I can’t imagine myself re-watching “Game of Thrones” for quite some time either.

Industry airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer in the UK, and on HBO in the US.
