The BBC is creating a new four-episode horror series called The Witch Farm, set in Wales during the 1980s. It will be available to watch on BBC One and iPlayer. The series is written by Danny Robbins, who also wrote Uncanny, The Battersea Poltergeist, and 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Bill and Liz Rich move from London to a secluded farmhouse in the Brecon Beacons, hoping for a new beginning.
But after a traumatic home birth, Liz starts to see a ghostly figure in the bedroom.

Soon after, strange things began occurring, leading the couple to believe someone else was with them.
As the two investigate, they find out that their new home has a dark history.

The story hints at a couple whose marriage is strained as they uncover hidden truths about the land around them. They’ll be pushed to their limits, forced to question their faith and each other, and decide how far they’ll go to make it through.
Michael Socha, known for What It Feels Like for a Girl, and Gabrielle Creevy, from The Guest, star as the couple in the film. The story was developed by director Robbins using ideas and experiences he gathered while hosting his Uncanny podcast, drawing from theories and stories shared by the people he interviewed.

In a recent statement, Robbins described creating the first Witch Farm podcast as a thrilling experience, especially because they uncovered a real case that might actually offer some insight into the age-old question of whether ghosts are real.
We’re thrilled to announce the story is becoming a TV drama! With an amazing cast and the talented director Stacey Gregg on board, things are really taking off.
Prepare for a thrilling and spooky detective story that’s full of suspense and emotional twists. It’s a ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and I’m excited to give you a good scare!
