Okay, so the new BBC take on Lord of the Flies is officially coming out soon, and they just dropped a trailer! I’m super excited to see how they’ve adapted it – I’ve already checked out the trailer and it looks intense.
The new TV series is based on William Golding’s popular 1954 novel (available on Amazon). It’s the first-ever screen adaptation of the story, which centers around a group of schoolboys stranded on a deserted island following a plane crash.
I’m really getting into this story! It’s cool how the boys try to create some order and be decent to each other. They elect Ralph as their leader, and thankfully, he’s got Piggy helping him out – Piggy’s the smart one, always thinking things through.

However, as Jack focuses more on hunting and trying to take charge, he starts to attract other boys, leading the group away from optimism and toward disaster.
The BBC has announced the premiere of Lord of the Flies on BBC One on Sunday, February 8th at 9pm, with new episodes airing weekly. All four episodes will also be available on BBC iPlayer starting that same day.

They just dropped a quick trailer for the show, and honestly, I’m so impressed with all the young actors! It looks like a lot of them are making their first professional appearances, which is really exciting to see.
The cast includes Winston Sawyers as Ralph, David McKenna as Piggy, Lox Pratt as Jack, Ike Talbut as Simon, Thomas Connor as Roger, Noah and Cassius Flemming playing the twins Sam and Eric, Cornelius Brandreth as Maurice, and Tom Page-Turner as Bill.
I’m really excited about the new series, Lord of the Flies! It’s from Jack Thorne, who also did Adolescence, and what’s cool is each episode shows the story from the point of view of a different character – Ralph, Piggy, Simon, or Jack. It’s going to be fascinating to see how their perspectives change everything!

Honestly, I’m still blown away that we’re getting to turn this amazing book into a film. It’s a dream come true, as Thorne said, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!
Early footage confirms our actors are phenomenal, and director Marc Munden is creating a stunning visual style that beautifully captures both their talent and the landscapes of Malaysia. He’s a truly gifted storyteller, and everything is coming together wonderfully.
As a huge fan of all these artists, I’m so excited about the music for this project! Hans Zimmer, the absolute legend, teamed up with Kara Talve (who did amazing work on Prehistoric Planet) to create the main theme and some extra tracks. And to top it all off, Cristobal Tapia de Veer, known for his incredible score in The White Lotus, is also contributing! It’s a dream team for sure.
The new series, Lord of the Flies, will debut on BBC One at 9pm on Sunday, February 8th. All four episodes will also be released on BBC iPlayer the same day.
