BBC acquires “deeply engaging” crime drama with “elite rookie cops” and you won’t want to miss it

The BBC has announced it will be adding a six-part Danish crime series, The Uniform, to both BBC iPlayer and BBC Four. The show is set in a competitive police academy in modern Denmark and has been praised by the BBC as confident and captivating.

A police trainee accidentally shoots and kills a man, causing a major crisis at the Danish police academy. The incident quickly becomes public, sparking widespread anger and political debate about the direction of law enforcement.

Youssef, played by Soheil Bavi, finds himself at the center of a difficult situation. His hopes of becoming an officer are destroyed when a shooting occurs.

As the academy goes into lockdown and everyone starts pointing fingers, a rift forms between the trainee and his friend Daniel (Marco Ilsø, known from Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead and Vikings). Meanwhile, his developing relationship with new student Freja (Clara Rosager, who starred in Lost: Those Who Kill and Morbius) could reveal hidden truths, according to details about the show.

Nick Lee, who heads program acquisition at the BBC, praised the drama The Uniform as a confident and compelling show with complex moral themes and well-developed characters. He believes viewers will be captivated by the series, which follows new recruits to the police force and offers the high-quality storytelling audiences expect from Scandinavian productions.
