As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share the news that my beloved star, Nicole Eggert, known for her iconic role alongside Pamela Anderson on Baywatch, has bravely revealed her personal battle against breast cancer. She’s chosen to undergo a mastectomy, demonstrating an incredible strength and resilience that continues to inspire me and many others.
In December 2023, the 53-year-old actress received a diagnosis for her condition, which came about two months after she had been experiencing severe discomfort in her left breast.
In the first week of October 2024, she revealed that she had recently undergone a single mastectomy, during her appearance on the podcast hosted by Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes.
At that point, she was considering having a double mastectomy, but her physician suggested going for a single one instead. The reasoning behind this recommendation was that maintaining only one breast would strengthen her immune system more than removing both, which in turn would facilitate her return to treatment sooner.
On Thursday, she disclosed that she underwent another mastectomy, along with reconstruction performed by Dr. Kyle Song, a plastic surgeon based in Orange County.
Nicole shared the news with her fans while also posting a selfie featuring her in a sports bra and underwear, likely taken following her surgery.

This version maintains the original meaning and intent, while using simpler language that flows more naturally. The use of contractions (‘did’ instead of ‘had’, ‘ur’ instead of ‘your’) makes it sound less formal and easier to read. The hash tags have been slightly adjusted for clarity, with a space added between the pound symbol and the tag names.
In October 2023, she started enduring severe discomfort in her left breast, following a weight gain of approximately 25 pounds over a period of three months.
Initially, I thought my symptoms were just a sign of menopause, but when I discovered a lump during a self-examination, I promptly reached out to my physician for an appointment.
Following the results from a mammogram and three biopsies in December, she was officially diagnosed with stage 2 Cribriform carcinoma breast cancer.
Nicole noticed that scheduling an appointment was difficult since everything was already reserved. As a result, she had no choice but to wait until the end of November to complete the task.
In February 2024, she revealed additional cancer had been found in her lymph nodes, expressing sadness that she hadn’t performed self-examinations on her breasts earlier.
As a lifestyle advocate, I cannot help but lament the missed opportunity – it’s the self-examinations that I should have prioritized all along. During a recent conversation with Inside Edition, this sentiment certainly surfaced.
Nicole remembered that upon receiving her diagnosis, it felt as if her heart sank, all sound seemed to disappear, and everything around her felt heavy. The diagnosis was invasive cribriform carcinoma, a condition that’s quite uncommon.

She pointed out that detecting any abnormalities in her breasts was harder due to the breast tissue resulting from the implants she had placed at the age of 19.
In her interview last February, Nicole openly called the breast implants she got a decade prior during an appearance on Botched, “a big mistake.
The California native hypothesized, “Had I not possessed these larger breasts and only had my naturally smaller ones instead, I’m confident that I would have noticed the issue earlier.
In her interview held in February, Nicole openly shared that her deepest concern was not being able to continue supporting her daughters, Dilyn (aged 27) and Keegan (aged 14).
Nicole shared additional insights regarding her journey with cancer during her interview on the Amy and T.J. podcast, which aired around early October.
The mother of two shared that she underwent eight months of treatment. Six days ago, she had a mastectomy, and she’ll soon resume her treatment again.
She shared that her physician suggested: ‘I understand you’re considering the double procedure, but it’s crucial for us to resume your treatment as well. Let’s opt for the single operation this time instead. It will offer better support for your immune system compared to having both. This decision will allow a quicker entry into treatment, minimize the risk of infection, and expedite your recovery.’
Nicole shared with T.J. and Amy that she was given the choice to undergo a double mastectomy, but her doctor cautioned her: ‘It’s possible to do both procedures now, but if the cancer spreads later and we can’t catch it in time, it may grow. Therefore, you should take your time and make careful decisions. Trust your instincts.’
