Story Highlights

  • The Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown (BMSD) 2026 will begin on the 22nd of September.
  • It will be an invite-only, closed-door tournament, where top 48 Indian teams will battle for a prize pool of INR 1 CR.

Following a hugely successful first half of the year with the popular tournaments BGIS and BMPS, KRAFTON India is gearing up for an even more exciting second half of the BGMI Esports season. They’ve announced the Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown (BMSD) 2026, where India’s best teams will compete for the championship title in Hyderabad this fall.

The best teams from the KRAFTON India Esports Leaderboard, as well as those who performed exceptionally well in BGIS and BMPS, will receive invitations to this tournament. This article details everything you need to know about BMSD 2026, including its format, prize pool, and schedule.

BMSD 2026: Schedule and Format

This year’s Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown will be an invite-only championship, and it will be a closed tournament. That means, unlike past events, fans won’t be able to attend the live, in-person portion of the competition.

I’m so hyped for BMSD 2026! From what I understand, they’re inviting the top 48 teams in the country – the best of the best according to the KIE Leaderboard – to compete in some seriously intense BGMI battles. It sounds like there won’t be any open sign-ups, only direct invites for those who’ve really proven themselves.

The tournament was particularly thrilling last year because the winning team automatically qualified for the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Championship in Thailand. If KRAFTON offers a similar opportunity this year, excitement levels will likely be very high.

The tournament kicks off on September 22nd, 2026, and will feature several stages. These include Promotion and Relegation rounds, a Survival stage, Semi-Finals, and a Last Chance round – all leading up to the LAN Grand Finals. Here’s a brief look at how it will work:

Stage Date
Week 1: Promotion/Relegation round September 22-24
Week 2: Promotion/Relegation round September 25-27
Week 3: Promotion/Relegation round September 28-30
Upper Bracket Survival Stage October 1-3
Lower Bracket Survival Stage October 4-6
Semi Finals October 8-11
Last Chance Qualifiers October 12-13
Grand Finals October 16-18

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series and Pro Series 2026 (BMSD 2026) will be an exclusive tournament with 48 invited teams. There won’t be any open qualifying rounds. The invited teams will include the top 16 teams from both the 2026 Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) and the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS).

In addition to the initial 32 teams, another 16 high-performing teams that qualify will also be invited. The best 8 teams from those two tournaments will start in the higher bracket, while the remaining 8 will begin in the lower bracket.

Prize Pool

Teams competing in the event will be playing for a grand prize pool of ₹1 Crore. In addition to the main prize, individual awards like Most Valuable Player and Best In-Game Leader will also come with cash rewards. While the winning team will receive the biggest portion of the prize money, other participating teams will also be rewarded.

We don’t have the final prize pool details just yet. However, we’ll share them as soon as we receive more information, so check back soon!

Where to watch the Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown 2026

BMSD 2026 will be a partly online and partly in-person (LAN) tournament. Most matches will happen online, but the final stage of the competition will be played as a LAN event with no live audience. The finals are scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, and you can watch everything unfold on the official Krafton India Esports YouTube channel.
