Battlefield 6 Beta Week 2 patch notes: Custom Search, new playlists, and more

The first set of patch notes for the second weekend of the Battlefield 6 beta.

The second weekend of Battlefield 6’s open beta is fast approaching, and in light of the first weekend’s events, the developers are implementing some modifications. Dice and EA have expressed their gratitude towards the players who have already experienced Battlefield 6 on social media and have published a blog post detailing all the fresh features slated for the game during the second beta weekend through an update of patch notes.

The full blog post about EA is available on their official site, however, we’ve condensed the key points into an overview that you can find below.

Battlefield 6 Beta Week 2 patch notes

The beta week 2 update for Battlefield 6 doesn’t provide extensive details, but it does highlight some significant modifications arriving in the game’s multiplayer mode.

Initially, the main highlight of the update is the introduction of the Custom Search feature, available for all gamers. This feature serves as a compact, user-friendly alternative to the traditional Server Browser, enabling players to specifically filter their multiplayer matches according to the desired map and game mode.

To give an example, if your aim is to engage in Conquest at Liberation Peak for some mountain sniping, simply input your preferences into the Custom Search option found within the main menu. This allows you to join a game through matchmaking, and the system will prioritize your choices while finding a suitable opponent. Keep in mind that this may result in longer breaks between matches, but it enhances your chances of getting your preferred gaming experience.

In Battlefield 6, the Server Browser functionality isn’t undergoing testing yet, however, the Custom Search option serves as a precursor to it. Fingers crossed, you can expect the Server Browser when Battlefield 6 officially launches in October.

Moving forward, the creators unveiled the lineup of playlists planned for every day during the upcoming beta weekend. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store for each day:

[Then list the days and their respective playlists]

  • Day 1, Thursday 14th
    • Conquest
    • Rush
    • Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)
  • Day 2, Friday 15th
    • Conquest
    • Squad Deathmatch
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch)
    • All-Out Warfare; Epic battles across expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)
  • Day 3-4, Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th
    • Conquest
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch).
    • All-Out Warfare; Epic battles across expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

During the second weekend of the beta test, Squad Deathmatch and Rush are the fresh game modes we’ll be introducing. EA has also hinted that future playlists will have a wider range, offering various maps and modes together. This implies that All-Out Warfare, for example, will encompass not one but three distinct game modes: Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush. Essentially, this means you can combine game modes to add some extra variety to your play experience.

In summary, that’s all for the second weekend beta patch notes of Battlefield 6. At this moment, there’s no indication of bug fixes or weapon balancing, but we anticipate some announcements regarding these aspects once the beta officially begins at 4 am ET/1 am PT on Thursday, Aug. 14.
