Digital Spy
Andrew’s work skillfully intensifies the atmosphere, enhanced by an ominous rhythmic score that echoes battle drums… the heavy topics such as inherited pain, harmful masculinity, and traditional values clashing with progress are presented powerfully, albeit sometimes lacking nuance or finesse.
The Independent
This story is structured like a gripping crime drama, but it carries the raw pain of a tragedy. It sprawls out over a stunningly captured setting by cinematographer Nick Cooke, yet it feels oppressive, as if the very landscape could close in on us at any moment and consume us entirely.
Chicago Sun Times
Featuring stunning performances by the cast and a unique narrative style reminiscent of ‘Rashomon,’ this film, titled ‘Bring Them Down,’, offers a chilling portrayal of a disturbing tale from two perspectives. It’s a rare cinematic experience that you shouldn’t miss at least once.
Little White Lies
1. Andrews makes a stunning first appearance in this film, while Abbott once again showcases his captivating, underestimated talent on the big screen.
2. In his feature debut, Andrews impresses us significantly, and with each new role, Abbott demonstrates further that he’s an undervalued, charismatic actor to watch.
The Daily Beast
In a somber and melancholic tone, it’s a song of regret for actions fueled by rage, injuries that persist, and a past that stubbornly lingers, refusing to move on completely.
The Wrap
The heart of the movie’s universe lies primarily in its two main characters. Despite the numerous hardships they encounter, they manage to produce a captivating storyline.
The Daily Telegraph
The movie leaves us feeling rather disappointed, and it seems that it doesn’t quite live up to its potential. The conclusion is also unclear. However, the thrilling build-up in the initial part showcases Andrews’ talent, making him an actor worth keeping an eye on.
Bring Them Down is in cinemas on February 7.
