Barry Keoghan’s new movie confirms UK release date

As a huge fan of Barry Keoghan’s acting abilities, I am thrilled to hear that his latest film “Bird” has finally set a release date in the UK and Ireland! The anticipation is building as this intriguing drama from acclaimed director Andrea Arnold will grace our screens on November 8, thanks to MUBI.

The UK release date for “Bird,” the new film starring Barry Keoghan of “Saltburn” and “The Banshees of Inisherin” fame, has been officially announced.

Starting November 8, the movie “American Honey,” helmed by director Andrea Arnold, will become available in cinemas across the UK and Ireland. This is made possible through the collaboration of streaming service and distributor MUBI.

I personally became captivated by the story of 12-year-old Bailey (Nykiya Adams), who resides in a squat in Kent together with her father Bug (Keoghan) and younger brother Hunter (Jason Buda). However, my interest was piqued when I saw how her father’s irresponsibility pushed her to crave excitement in other places. Eventually, she encounters the enigmatic Bird (Franz Rogowski), adding an air of mystery to her already intriguing journey.

Following its screening at the Cannes Film Festival, “Bird” received uniformly favorable reviews, earning a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, it maintains a respectable rating of 73%.

Some people found the movie quite unusual and not to their liking, while others appreciated it. Nevertheless, Keoghan’s authentic and relatable acting skills have received universal acclaim.

During an interview about the movie “Bird,” Keoghan shared that he had to decline an offer for the highly anticipated “Gladiator” sequel because of his commitment to this film.

He told IndieWire, “I’m a huge fan of Gladiator and its talented cast. Unfortunately, I can’t be involved in two projects at the same time due to scheduling conflicts, or disagreements, if you will.”

“It always happens. Shooting in two different countries as well makes it really difficult.”

For me as an actor, working with Bird was the most artistic experience I’ve ever had. I find the approach to be unstructured, which Andrea masterfully executes and maintains that documentary-style authenticity. It’s a unique challenge to remain truthful within this unconventional framework.

Bird swoops into cinemas on November 8.
