Barry Keoghan’s new movie confirms streaming release date
As a gamer who’s been through the emotional rollercoaster of indie games like “Life is Strange” and “The Last of Us,” I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming release of “Bird” on Mubi. The storyline, with its focus on a 12-year-old girl’s journey in search of attention and adventure, resonates deeply with my gaming soul.
The movie featuring Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski, titled “Bird”, has finally set its premiere date on streaming platforms.
In a new movie directed by Andrea Arnold titled “The Drama,” we follow the life of 12-year-old Bailey, portrayed by Nykiya Adams, as she resides with her lone father Bug, played by Keoghan, and brother Hunter, played by Jason Buda, in an unofficial residence in North Kent.
Due to his limited availability, Bug neglects spending time with his children. This indifference infuriates Bailey, who yearns for affection and excitement, causing her to seek it elsewhere. Eventually, she encounters the enigmatic character named Rogowski.
After a short stint in movie theaters in both the UK and US during November, it’s now official that the movie “Bird’s ” will be available for streaming on Mubi. The premiere is scheduled for December 23rd.
After debuting at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May, the film “Bird” has been praised for its ethereal ambiance and acting, with Digital Spy commending director Andrea Arnold for her work.
In our critique, we note that Arnold introduces an unexpected, dreamlike quality for the first time, aiding us in exploring the mysterious. The storytelling style of a fable seems most fitting for capturing the parts of adolescence where ordinary understanding fails…
Arnold always ensures that her characters are not forgotten – her kindness and perceptiveness as a storyteller and filmmaker are truly remarkable. Although the film presents challenging scenarios, it fundamentally explores a young girl learning to embrace both happiness and hardship while discovering her inner resilience.
Next week, “Bird” will become available for streaming. Meanwhile, you can look forward to seeing Thomas Keoghan in “The Immortal Man,” a sequel to “Peaky Blinders.” Keoghan has hinted at the upcoming project, stating that he found the script “epic” and “so incredibly epic.
Alongside Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, Stephen Graham, and Sophie Rundle – all returning from the show’s previous seasons – will also be part of the cast. Joining them are newcomers Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth as well.
Bird is released on Mubi on December 23.
