Barry Keoghan’s brutal Irish thriller confirms streaming release date

The Irish thriller, “Bring Them Down,” starring Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott, has set its streaming premiere date.

In this movie, penned and steered by Christopher Andrews, we see the main characters portrayed as a couple of Irish farmers embroiled in a harsh and mounting feud. This conflict, unfortunately, brings about disastrous outcomes within their local township.

Starting March 28, movie enthusiasts can exclusively stream the recently-released film “Bring Them Down” on MUBI after its run in cinemas last month.

1. You can create an account directly through MUBI’s website or add the service as a channel on your current Amazon Prime account. Both methods have a monthly fee of £11.99, but they also offer a 7-day free trial.

2. Sign up for MUBI via their official site, or link it to your existing Amazon Prime account by adding it as a channel. Each option will set you back £11.99 per month, and they both come with a 7-day complimentary trial.

The summary for “Bring Them Down” states: “Michael, the sole son of a rural family, leads a secluded life alongside his grumpy, ailing father Ray. Haunted by a grievous secret from his past, Michael has intentionally cut himself off from society and focuses on his cherished sheep instead.

When the persistent feud between farmer Gary and his erratic, unpredictable son Jack rekindles ancient resentments and grudges, it sets off a series of escalating and destructive incidents, ultimately transforming both families forever.

Additionally featured are actors such as Colm Meaney from “Layer Cake”, Nora-Jane Noone hailing from “Brooklyn”, Paul Ready known for “Motherland”, and Susan Lynch, who starred in “Enduring Love”.

After watching “Bring Them Down” at the theater, I was thrilled to find out that it earned a fantastic 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, securing its status as ‘Certified Fresh’.

In our review for the movie in Digital Spy, we noted that Andrews skillfully creates a sense of suspense, which is amplified by a continuous and ominous percussion soundtrack akin to war drums… While the topics of inherited trauma, harmful masculinity, and tradition versus progress are presented powerfully, they might not always convey a rich or nuanced portrayal.

Bring Them Down will be available to stream on MUBI from March 28.
