Barry Keoghan teases “epic” Peaky Blinders movie
As a gamer with a penchant for both gaming and gritty period dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. Having binge-watched the series multiple times (and yes, I’ve even played the official video game), I feel like I’m part of the Shelby family myself.
Barry Keoghan has teased the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, describing it as “epic”.
In August, it became known that Tom Keoghan would team up with Cillian Murphy in an upcoming Netflix film, but the character he will portray remains unconfirmed.
During his recent chat with Josh Horowitz, the actor hinted: “Upon reading the script, I found it to be grand. Truly remarkable, almost beyond words.
Additionally, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo are among those who will be teaming up with Keoghan in the upcoming segment.
Besides Murphy continuing in the character of Tommy Shelby, we also have some familiar faces coming back: Stephen Graham portraying Hayden Stagg, Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne, Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong, Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs, and Ian Peck reprising his role as Curly.
At present, specifics about the storyline remain undisclosed; however, creator Steven Knight has made it clear that the setting is during World War II.
He mentioned that the narrative is quite particular, drawn from actual events during World War II, and it will be presented in a manner reminiscent of “Peaky Blinders”, prior to the series’ final episode in 2022.
The movie is being helmed by Tom Harper, who’s pledging a remarkable follow-up to the widely successful BBC series.
He expressed that both our exceptional actors and crew are buzzing with eagerness and enthusiasm, adding: “We owe it to our dedicated fans who have brought us thus far, and we firmly believe that the upcoming phase will offer an extraordinary experience.
In September, a sneak peek image of Murphy returning to his role as Tommy Shelby was shared on Netflix’s official Instagram account, indicating that filming had begun.
According to the instructions of the Peaky Blinders… Tommy Shelby makes his return, as hinted by Netflix’s post. In reality, Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight have joined forces once more on set, signifying the commencement of filming for the forthcoming Netflix production.
Netflix’s Peaky Blinders movie does not yet have a release date.
