The thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow, featuring Barry Keoghan and Jenna Ortega, is now available on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. The film gained attention earlier this year, but not for the reasons its creators intended.
This film, connected to The Weeknd’s album, tells a story inspired by the musician’s life. It portrays him as a character struggling with sleeplessness and sadness, who questions the meaning of his life after an encounter with an enigmatic fan.
Ortega plays the mysterious fan, while Keoghan plays The Weeknd’s manager.

Even with a famous cast, the movie was a major financial failure, earning only $7.8 million worldwide despite costing $15 million to make.
The film also received negative reviews, scoring only 14% positive on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the lowest-rated films of the year.

According to Empire, the latter part of the story is more surprising than the beginning, even showcasing director Trey Edward Shults’ horror roots. However, the film often feels like an advertisement for The Weeknd’s new album, bordering on self-indulgence, despite not always portraying him in a positive light.
According to The Washington Post, even dedicated fans might feel the movie Hurry Up Tomorrow is taking too long to finish, suggesting it’s not very engaging.
Critics panned the film, with The Daily Beast calling it an incredibly arrogant and potentially the worst movie of the year. The Los Angeles Times described it as unpleasant and aimless.

However, Variety did offer some praise, specifically highlighting the strong acting performances by Keoghan and Ortega. Additionally, the film has a reasonably positive audience score of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes.
You can get Prime Video as a streaming service for £5.99 per month. Or, for £8.99 a month (or £95 a year), you can get Prime Video included with an Amazon Prime membership, which also offers benefits like free delivery.
