Baptiste star joins the cast of ITV’s new heist drama with Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker
The supporting cast for new ITV heist drama Frauds has been announced, including a Baptiste star.
Under the guidance of Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker, this upcoming series will delve into the intricate relationship between characters Bert and Sam, who, after being apart for ten years, find their shared histories resurfacing.
Since Sam prefers a quiet life, the release from prison of her old friend Bert on compassionate grounds rekindles her desire for one last, substantial crime – a massive art heist. Pretending it’s their final chance at a huge payday, Bert tries to persuade Sam to come out of retirement, but at what price?
What to Read Next
Will Sam manage to maintain a lead over his ex-friend, who appears to be scheming, or will their volatile relationship drag them both down before they can successfully complete their task?
Rebaptize and rephrase as needed: Talisa García, famously known as the “Blurred Star,” will take on the role of Miss Take. This character is introduced as a witty, humorous, and sharp-tongued Spanish trans woman in her mid-fifties who hosts drag bingo events at a club along the Costa del Sol.
In a new development for the upcoming series, the talented actor Abdul Sails has been cast as Mateo, who is married to Miss Take, whereas Thais Martin from ‘Coolie’, joins the show as Caitlin, the long-lost daughter of Sam.
Lee Boardman from the series “Andor” will team up with our character, playing the role of Craig, who is also known as magician The Great Diavolo. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Berrington, best recognized for her work in “Good Omens,” will portray Craig’s wife and assistant, Jackie Diamond.
In a new twist of events, Karan Gill from the acclaimed series “I May Destroy You” will take on the role of Bilal, who is famously known as the world’s top forger. This skilled deceiver finds himself in trouble when moneylender Deegs, played by Christian Cooke from the show “Rematch“, traces him to Spain, in search of his elusive debtor.
In the past, Nansi Nsue will portray policewoman Amaya, Kate Fleetwood from ‘Wheel of Time’ takes on the role of stern art dealer Celine, and Javier Taboada, known for his role as Daryl Dixon in ‘The Walking Dead’, will play Blas – a former prison guard who was romantically involved with Bert during her time behind bars.
Frauds has been created for ITV by Jones and Anne-Marie O’Connor, with O’Connor writing.
Jones stated in a release: “Collaborating with Anne-Marie and Monumental over the past two years on the project Frauds has been quite a rollercoaster ride. We flipped the concept of toxic female camaraderie, providing the heist genre with an emotional pulse.
I’ve been eager to collaborate with Jodie for a long time, and finally, I am. Here’s hoping you enjoy Bert and Sam just as much as we do, with their antics!
This year, fraud-related programs are scheduled to broadcast on ITV and STV. You’ll also have the option to stream these shows on ITVX and STV Player at a later date.
The long-awaited debut print magazine from Digital Spy, titled “British Comedy Legends,” is now available! You can purchase it at your local newsstands or online for only £3.99.
