BAPE Drops Nostalgic Collaborative ‘Tom and Jerry’ Collection
85 years after the iconic Tom and Jerry cat-and-mouse chase, fashion label BAPE is honoring this classic duo. In an exclusive collaboration, the brand joins forces with the widely popular animated comedy series, marking a partnership with Warner Bros., to pay tribute to the enduring legacy of these cherished characters through a special collection.
Ever since its inception in the 1940s, this series has been cherished by generations. The assortment comprises a variety of limited-edition items split into two unique collections: “Core Art” and “Vintage Art”. In the “Core Art” collection, the clothing pieces showcase the latest character designs from Tom and Jerry. On the other hand, the “Vintage Art” series focuses on the original and classic animation style, honoring the rich history of Tom and Jerry. The “Core Art” segment includes a range of t-shirts, full-zip hoodies, sweatshirts, pouches, and a plush doll set. The t-shirt designs number four: one featuring BAPE’s famous ape head combined with Tom and Jerry; another showcasing bulldog Spike and young mouse Tuffy on black and white tees as well as a camouflage t-shirt emphasizing Tom and Jerry; lastly, a collegiate sweatshirt reimagines BAPE’s college logo with lively Tom and Jerry graphics.
In the collection known as “Vintage Art,” you’ll find a selection of crewneck sweatshirts and ringer T-shirts adorned with half-rubber prints that emphasize the fabric’s texture to create a genuinely vintage vibe. The ringer tee boasts piping on its collar and cuffs, and it comes in both ivory and black, showcasing traditional graphics and the “A BATHING APE®︎” logo. The crewneck sweatshirt showcases monochrome drawings of the ape head together with Tom and Jerry, depicted in black, grey, and yellow hues.
The collection drops on February 22 at select stores and online.
