Bankrupt Influencer Shares Raw Postpartum Body Update After Fertility Struggles and Anorexia

Influencer Christie Swadling, known for stirring debates, recently posted an honest snapshot of her postpartum physique, just two days following the arrival of a robust newborn son.

On Tuesday evening, the 28-year-old influencer posted a collection of maternity pictures on social media, officially announcing that she had welcomed her firstborn baby boy, whom they named Rocco, with her partner Joel Price.

On Thursday, Christie recorded herself in her bathroom mirror, showcasing a nude undergarment and a slip dress, as she inspected her stomach by holding them above it.

In another photo featuring baby Rocco bundled up in a high-end swaddling cloth, Christie once more posted the same inspiring quote.

Previously, it was disclosed that Christie first encountered her future spouse, Joel, due to his son Kaden, who is now 13, taking an interest in Christie on TikTok, where she shared bikini images and exercise videos, at the tender age of eight.

Christie shared more news about the baby, updating her 122,000 Instagram followers, by saying: ‘Now my life is full and I am overflowing with love’.

She said that being a new mother is incredibly difficult, but she’s embracing the challenge wholeheartedly without any self-criticism. She understands that he too is learning about her, and they’re both growing together in this journey.

‘But I’m so in love and truly this is the best achievement in the entire world.’  

In simpler terms, the fitness influencer mentioned that her initial day at home with Rocco was filled with quality time spent with his siblings and relatives, along with a relaxing evening that included enjoying a glass of wine and ordering some takeout.

Last year, Christie opened up about her fertility journey with her followers.

She mentioned that she’s been dealing with some hormonal problems but is now experiencing regular periods. Alongside Joel, they’ve been attempting to conceive a child, however, their efforts so far have not resulted in success.

Initially, Christie gained attention in 2015 when she openly discussed her struggles with self-image and anorexia nervosa in an interview with Daily Mail Australia.

At the age of 18, the internet sensation openly shared her struggles with self-comparison to supermodels, which eventually led her to the brink of a life-threatening eating disorder.

She mentioned that the digitally altered ads featuring models such as Miranda Kerr, initially triggered her concerns about body image, because they give the impression that’s what one is expected to look like.

At one point, her weight dwindled down to nearly 30 kilograms. 

She explained that due to her condition, she lost weight beyond what typical models maintain, and as a result, she stopped considering the models and instead developed an unwavering focus on shedding even more pounds.

Individuals experiencing conditions like anorexia or bulimia, which are types of eating disorders, may cease menstruation due to unusual hormonal fluctuations in their bodies.

When a mother isn’t consuming sufficient food for her own needs, the body automatically reduces reproductive functions to save energy and avoid the effort of sustaining another life.

After undergoing treatment and recovery for an eating disorder, some women find it challenging to conceive for extended periods.

After receiving her diagnosis, Christie’s condition worsened gradually. She ended up being hospitalized on three separate occasions due to fainting episodes, before eventually accepting the reality of her health situation.

She stared into the mirror, feeling a deep sense of revulsion at her reflection, and realized that she was gradually self-destructing. [She said this.]

Christie received news of her birth announcement a few months following an incident where her partner was given a restraining order and indicted for common assault, which falls under the umbrella of domestic violence charges.

In April, the New South Wales Police issued an Interim Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against Joel, who is 38 years old, on behalf of Christie. However, he denied any wrongdoing with regards to the assault accusation.

Daily Mail Australia understands the matter was heard in court on August 6.

In 2022, Swadling filed for bankruptcy after racking up a pile of debt that she cannot pay back. 

It came to light that she had filed for bankruptcy when someone anonymously purchased documentation about it from the Tattle Life forums for fifteen dollars.

Her bankruptcy status is currently ‘unsettled’, indicating that she’s yet to be released from the obligation to repay certain outstanding debts.
