The musical group encountered a harrowing travel ordeal when their belongings were misplaced by Virgin Australia during their journey to one of the largest rural music events.
19-Twenty faced a crushing blow on Friday as they arrived at Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash, only to find out that their musical equipment had not made it onto the plane with them.
The band members, Kane Dennelly, Jeremy Berg, and John Gwilliam, quickly posted on social media about their disturbing encounter with a fraudulent press release, which they named ‘Innovation in Unwelcome Inconvenience’.
On their official Instagram account, Virgin Australia announced with pride the launch of a fresh, high-end service titled ‘The Gearless Gig Experience.’
Introduced today at the Mundi Mundi Bash alongside 19-Twenty, this innovative bundle guarantees that your band arrives separately from their instruments, offering a unique and well-organized setup.
Why stress over double basses, guitars, equipment like pedals and cables, when authentic creativity resides in heart-stopping anxiety? The deceptive claim went on to say…

In a different part of a lengthy critique, the band members disclosed that Virgin Airlines had “considerately” decided to cancel their initial flight.
The travelers were given the option for a later flight, however, unluckily, all their equipment – specifically four guitars – had been forgotten in Sydney.
…”There’s nothing more reminiscent of rock ‘n’ roll than asking strangers for a guitar slide in a desert,” the band playfully quipped.
As a committed supporter, I also participated in forming a representative for Virgin Australia, with the aim of amplifying our concerns about the inconveniences experienced by the airline.
The statement reads: ‘We take great pride in presenting live music in its most unadulterated state – just three passionate men, devoid of any equipment, and bearing the heavy burden of defeat. To be honest, it’s an expression of raw art.’
In a simplified and more conversational tone, the sentence could be rephrased as: “They ended their misleading press statement by stating that Virgin Australia plans to bring The Gearless Gig Experience to negatively impact even more artists in the upcoming times.
The band concluded their message with, “‘Virgin Australia – You didn’t really need those musical instruments.’
Daily Mail has reached out to Virgin Australia for comment.

The group’s post was soon inundated with comments in support.
One fan remarked, ‘You couldn’t ask for a more unfortunate turn of events for an unplugged performance, but somehow they managed to transform it into an engaging narrative! If only it were a work of fiction instead of reality.’ Wishing you all the best, guys.”
By rephrasing the original statement, I aimed to maintain the sentiment and essence of the comment while making it easier for readers to understand and more grammatically correct. The revised version preserves the initial enthusiasm and sarcasm, but also provides a more polished, clear, and coherent structure.
Another commented, ‘Though it was incredibly sad…it was by far the best-written and funniest piece I’ve come across in years.’
Wow, that’s too bad! Still, I must admit the post was cleverly done. It’s good to know you’re still keeping things light-hearted!”
This response maintains the overall sentiment and tone while providing a more natural and easy-to-read paraphrase of the original message.
This weekend, the band was scheduled to perform at the already full Mundi Mundi Bash, sharing the stage with popular Australian rock acts like Missy Higgins, The Angels, and the Hoodoo Gurus.
