Bandai Namco Has Reportedly Lost 100 Employees Since Last Year
According to reports, it appears that Bandai Namco has been reducing its staff count. Since the previous year, they have reportedly let go of more than a hundred employees.
Based on a report from Automaton (through VGC) and data extracted from a Japanese pension database, it’s stated that the company experienced a total of 117 departures from April 2024 to February 2025.
Keep in mind, though, that the details provided don’t clarify if these individuals chose to depart or were compelled to do so.
Previously, it was disclosed by Bloomberg that Bandai Namco had adopted a method known as Oidashi Beya, which essentially involves keeping employees busy with repetitive tasks or idle work. The intention is to make them feel so overwhelmed that they choose to leave voluntarily. This strategy allows the company to avoid providing them with benefits associated with layoffs or termination.
Bandai has not commented on the current situation, which could indicate that the company might be experiencing some tough times. In the latest Bloomberg report, it’s mentioned that the “One Piece” and “Naruto” games seem to have been terminated.
More on this as it develops.
