Banana Yoshimoto’s ‘Daisy’s Life’ Gets Anime Adaptation Featuring Yoshitomo Nara Designs

Miyu Productions, a French animation company, has revealed that they’re making an animated movie titled “Daisy’s Life” which is inspired by the novel “Hinagiku no Jinsei” written by Banana Yoshimoto. This film is being developed in partnership with ame pippin, a fresh studio led by acclaimed animator Masaaki Yuasa, recognized for his innovative works including “The Tatami Galaxy“, “Devilman Crybaby ” and “DAN DA DAN ” at his previous studio, Science SARU. Yuasa will helm the production of this film, assuring a unique blend of his dreamlike visuals and heartfelt narratives.

The novel published by Gentosha Bunko between 1998 and 2000 showcased artwork by the renowned Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara. Notably, he was also responsible for designing the characters in the animated version of this story. At the same time, Sachiko Tanaka crafted the screenplay, leveraging her talent for creating stories that delve into emotional depths and examine societal issues as well as human relationships.
