Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honour Mode is too hard for the majority of players
As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honour Mode has been an exhilarating challenge that’s tested my strategic prowess and patience like never before. It’s a tough cookie, but it’s the kind you can’t resist taking another bite out of!
The toughest test in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the Honour Mode, a setting that boosts game difficulty and introduces permadeath. If your character perishes, your journey ends. In the eight months following its launch by developer Larian Studios, only 464 out of 34,000 players managed to complete a run in Honour Mode. Since then, more players have succeeded, but those who’ve triumphed still represent a small percentage: approximately 12% of the total number of players trying it, according to data from an infographic published Wednesday. Indeed, it’s quite challenging!
either discard your progress or transfer it to Personalized Mode. It’s found that about 76% of players opted to erase their progress, while the remaining 24% elected to shift their character into Personalized Mode. (Moving your game to Personalized Mode implies you haven’t technically finished Honor Mode.)
It’s been a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 came out, and here’s an interesting discovery we’ve made: Nearly one-fourth of you can’t resist stirring up trouble with a djinni, and it turns out that a significant number of you find pleasure in bear mating rituals and tentacles. Who would have guessed?

Larian recently disclosed additional data, similar to their report eight months prior. Notably, the leading trio has switched: Before, it was Gale, Astarion, and Karlach; currently, it’s Astarion, Gale, and Shadowheart. However, an impressive 93% of players opted to create custom characters for gameplay.
As a devoted fan, I’ve noticed that the number of players who opted for a romantic encounter with Halsin in his bear form hasn’t seen significant variation: It still hovers around the 30% mark. On the other hand, the gaming community has collectively shared over 75 million kisses throughout the game, but Shadowheart remains the most favored recipient, receiving approximately 27 million of those affectionate pecks. Larian humorously commented on Twitter, “Give them a break, their pixels are wearing thin,” referring to the high demand for Shadowheart as a romantic interest. Interestingly, she’s still the most chosen romance option, with nearly half (48.8%) of players reaching her “final romance scene” according to Larian.
In the vast collection of data available on topic X, you’ll find discussions about endgame spoilers as well. One particular outcome – a significant spoiler alert! – was so scarcely achieved that out of over 10,000 players, only 34 completed Baldur’s Gate 3 in this manner.
