As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tad nostalgic about the good ol’ days of modding games to our heart’s content without any restrictions. However, I understand Larian Studios’ decision to limit the number of mods in Baldur’s Gate 3 on console to 100.
In an attempt to address issues like “slow load times” and “game crashes”, Larian Studios plans to limit the number of mods that can be used simultaneously within Baldur’s Gate 3 on consoles to a maximum of 100.
Due to the inclusion of modifications in the console version of Larian’s RPG, some players have gotten quite carried away with them, causing problems for others. To ensure the game runs smoothly, the studio has put a limit of 100 mods, stating that consoles can handle only a certain number of files simultaneously.
Given that over 100 mods are now accessible for download on console, Laria brings up an important point in the Hotfix #29 update. One may wonder who plays with more than 100 mods in one game. However, it seems a few of you do.
Essentially, Larian Studios has mentioned that if your current game in the console edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 contains over 100 mods at present, you won’t be capable of loading it temporarily.
“The developers recommend reducing the number of active mods on your PC save if you play both PC and console versions using cross-saves, especially when you have more than 100 mods enabled on a single save. This adjustment may help ensure seamless access to your cross-save data on the console.
Larian is planning to release a fix quickly which allows players to retrieve console saves that were restricted due to the 100 mod limit. They advise that using mods might lead to overall instability, especially on consoles, and depending on the mods you’ve used in your save file, you could encounter issues when some mods are deactivated.
