As a lifelong fan of both Balatro and Pokémon, I am beyond excited about this upcoming collaboration! With Balatro’s impressive track record of successful crossovers with other popular titles, it’s no surprise that they’ve managed to snag a partnership with gaming giants like Pokémon.

Balatro, an explosively popular roguelike card game launched this year, has been expanding its collaborative projects, now featuring heavyweights such as Cyberpunk 2077, Stardew Valley, and others. Recently, Balatro has hinted at a potential partnership with video game titan, Pokemon, through Makeship – further details available below.
Everything you need to know about the Balatro Pokemon Collaboration
On November 5th, Balatro hinted at a possible partnership with Pokemon in a post on X, asking, “Who’s the Pokemon?” accompanied by an image of what seems to be a Balatro joker character transformed into a Pokemon. The phrase “Coming Soon” at the top of the post suggests that we can expect more details about this collaboration soon.
This partnership is being facilitated by Makeship, a company known for creating themed plushies based on various gaming and entertainment properties in the past. Consequently, it’s likely that this collaboration will result in a unique combination of Pokemon characters with the Balatro Joker mascot, potentially leading to the creation of a plushie featuring a Pokemon version of the Balatro Joker, such as a Mr. Mime Balatro Joker toy.
This isn’t Balatro’s first time doing a crossover
